Currently a forklift operator and take part in loading and unloading multiple flatbeds and vans everyday, I've been saving up for a cdl a class and have luckily gotten plenty of different class recommendations from the flatbed drivers I interact with, I'm just hoping that I'm not too incompetent when I start

I'm a corporate pilot, and I want to be a driver so damn bad. Most folks think I am crazy, and they're right. I will take my class A driving test on July 6th. Now if I can just find some sort of seasonal job where I can make good money, and then take a few months off and move to Taiwan for a few months out of the year with my wife.

And thank you for making content that helps out people like me that want to get into this lifestyle of a trucker. People like you MakeCents, A Truckers Life, FSC speed shop, ET Transport and many others that I follow and watch. Helps out the question that I will have. Like what's my first year of a driver going to be like, what kind of hauls/loads that I can do. What do I look into buying a truck. Then watching and seeing the other side of break downs, DOT's pulling you over, what loads to bid and so fourth. Its a lot of amazing informative content. Can't wait to see a lot more.

I've always wanted to be a truck driver since I was a kid. My grandfather had step father were both drivers and it always seemed like the coolest job. I tried college and failed and started my working life, been working in factories for the past 4 years and I'm getting sick of it. There's no passion or enjoyment and ultimately just dread going to work. I do not want to spend my entire working career in a box. Currently working on saving up for school. My goal is to become an owner operator within 5 years of my driving career. Thanks for sharing your story 👍 I really enjoy your videos

You’ll be glad you did it, trust me. Life is too short to dread going to work at a job you hate every day. I’ve been trucking for 27 years now and an owner-op for 16 and I can’t imagine doing anything else. Sure, it’s not a bed of roses every day but all in all, it is a rewarding and satisfying profession. It’s not for everyone, but you will know very quickly if it is right for you. I wish you well and the best of luck to you!

Hey man thanks so much for all the awesome info first of all. I remember 6 months ago not being happy with my current job. Trucking was something I have been interested in but quite honestly I would find excuses. Well happy to say I have my road test this Saturday and if all goes well I'll be able to get my CDL!!! Looking forward to getting out there and hopefully to Landstar once I become an owner op

Ok you wanted my most crazy story.... 8 years behind the wheel OTR , came out of Breezewood PA. in the middle of a winter storm in mid February around 7am was in such a rush that all I had on was my boxer shorts but hey I had to get going.. anyway two miles out it hit me , yep had to do that tire check we all do...lol. So I pulled over on the shoulder opened the passenger door and made the mad dash behind the cab... Just as I make it to the back of the cab when the wind blew a hard gust .. now here I am in my boxer shorts -15 degs , snowing, wind blowing and what do I hear? That's right the wind had blew the door shut. And in my rush to get out I had placed my hand on the door locks.. ok now I've been on the road for 8 years and I knew to have back up keys, I had a set tied to the battery or at lease the battery before it was changed the week before, yes sir they were gone...so I'm standing on the side of the road next to a nice warm running truck. Standing there like I'm turning tricks in my boxers when till this day I still don't know why a fellow trucker pulled over and let me sit in his cab while he got out and tried some old keys he still had . And thank God one fit.. so maybe if your having a bad day Just remember it could be worst

I know some companies will ask you what places you don't want to take to but can you ask places you would want to go to? I'd like to be a truck driver because i have family all over the country and it would be great to see them once in a couple months rather than once every 10 years.

Oh, you are killin me Smalls!😂🤣. I believe you were going to say, “I decided to leave the company I was at.” But, you stopped mid-sentence and said “I didn’t decide...” You then talked about getting married. It made it sound like she had a gun to your head. I am probably the only one that thought that, but it made me laugh. I have a very similar story Brian. I actually did door-to-door funeral sales for about five years before going back to trucking. I am looking forward to your next video. You have gained a lot of respect in my book young man. Take care, and catch ya’ on the flip flop.
