Спорт

Chris Lykes has beaten the odds his entire career, and much of this has come on the defensive end. As small guards, we HAVE to make sure that we're not a liability on the defensive end. Here, Chris teaches you exactly how to do that!

That offensive mindset on defense is just being proactive instead of reactive and dictating what the offensive player does to put yourself in a more successful position as a defender

    1. Use your speed (if you can) 2. Embrace off-ball defense 3. Use your low center of mass 4. Get back in the play 5. Play with an offensive mindset

...build your core... You can withstand the height difference with body control and speed. I know this because I have guarded 6'6'' Guards being 5'6''

“Offensive mindset on defense” might be the best thing I’ve put into perspective in a minute lol

This is correct. I was taught when defending good players, you can’t react to them or they will score everytime. You have to be proactive

You must negate as many options for great offensive players that way you are dictating where they are going. Containing them is the key to frustrate them.

Lol Happened in the last tournament I played...I started from the bench, 2 months out of the courts...this dude scored 15 points in the 1st quarter...i Checked in and played full court man to man on him....he ended the game with 15 points and even gave away the PG role 😂 he couldn't handle the defensive pressure
