Becky G Breaks Her Silence About Her Health & Fiancee Sebastian Lletget | Lovers and Friends Ep. 65

Becky G is an award-winning, chart topping, international superstar who has always been grateful for her life, but at one point, hated herself and the experience of being alive.
In order to get out of that dark place and to get the clarity she needed to heal she knew she needed a superhero, but what she didn’t know is “that hero” would ultimately need to be herself. In this episode Becky G candidly shares how learning to love herself, advocate for her needs and set boundaries has opened up a world of abundance, power, and arguably most importantly, self compassion.

She’s so beautiful! I’m sad to hear how she talks about Sebastian and knowing how he betrayed her. She doesn’t deserve this, NO WOMAN deserves to be cheated on. Also, I don’t understand why her parents depend on her!?? Like why? They need to apologize to her and work for themselves instead of being a load on her shoulders. She deserves to be happy without worrying about supporting grownups!

I've always felt like I was "supposed" to have people who were supposed to be part of that innermost circle and I struggle at times because I don't. I have friends and really good ones and a super supportive family...I'd never take that or them for granted but I think I've been given a permission that I didn't know I needed and that is pretty cool. She is so impressive, articulate, mature and thoughtful. I totally understand the anxiety (& ironically my 1st anxiety episode was on a plane & thought I was going to die for sure). Becky & this interview remind me so much of October Gonzalez being interviewed by her husband on his podcast Wide Open. I think as a Latina, it all starts when our parents tell us that there’s no reason to be ungrateful because there’s people who have it worse. I understand the dangers of victim mentality but it’s OK to get help and it’s important to talk about it. Mental health shouldn’t be the elephant in the room. These phrases or sayings belittles us, they makes us feel guilty for being sad or feeling “shitty”.

“Serving to those around me without really realizing what it was costing me!“ that hit hard. Same for me & I’m the oldest of 4 too & grew up w/ my parents raising me w/ other family members too. Living in a fight or flight definitely will start affecting you if you don’t get help from childhood traumas and even adult traumas. Always trying to prove ourselves to our families and others and taking care of them over ourselves. Trying to protect everyone around you will break you. &&& yes trauma will affect ur physical body and I had very similar health issues as Becky! & come to find out it’s an autoimmune condition because of high stress. Emotional stuff we don’t deal with will eventually affect our bodies! Panic will start to set in and you will feel like in between! Which is like a dissociative feeling! When you don’t have a safe space your mind, body, & soul will be unaligned. Your autonomic nervous system will go haywire. “Me & my faith” that’s amazing 🥲 me too 😊 Jesus has saved me over and over. He’s my safe place. &&& remember not all these drs in regular medicine will know how to help you and it’s up to you to help your body! Find a functional medicine dr if you can.😅
