Beaver Dam Removal Next To The Road! DAMAGE appeared!
Beavers dam that makes real damage to the road and culvert. I met farmer there who is hunter too. He said that he will wait for those beavers to eliminate them. If they will stay here for a long time, they will make huge negative impact for the road.
Enjoy the video;)

if you leave the wood around after you take the dam apart of course the beavers will reuse it to make another dam... I guess that is one way to keep in business...
I'm impressed with the beaver's use of large rocks in the dams
Mr Beaver has earned a University degree for the variety of materials, including plenty of rocks, that he has used in this dam. Congratulations on your work Sir.

American Beavers weigh 55 pounds and they are basically a Giant flat tail rat. Just think of a large dog in size. Then, consider that they move entire TREES into the water to place them. They regularly fell 16 inch and larger trees one y cousin's property. They are as good a lumber jack as an engineer.

Master craftsman beavers. When it's got mud, big rocks, big logs and sticks mixed throughout, you know you've got some old timer builders and the dam ain't going down without a fight. It was good you had all that water pressure built up behind it.

That is one muscle bound beaver - good sized rocks in that dam.
The evolution of beavers, their dam-building instincts, and adaptability is awe-inspiring. Now I see they're using rocks to reinforce their dams. What will you do when they learn how to use concrete?? (laughter). Are you ever concerned the beavers were re-introduced to the baltic states??

There is a video of a beaver cutting down a pretty large and thick branch and dragging it, little by little, to make a dam. Very strong little thing. Amazing what they can do, they are builders🎉
That was a very well established dam with so much soil and rock in it. It must have taken the beavers years to build it!

Beaver dams are amazing. Even when they are half gone the rest doesn't just wash away. Good you are pulling it apart slowly so the materials can wash away and make it harder for them to rebuild.

I thought these things are just a bunch of branches but it's more solid than most civil engineering projects in my city.
Do you haul away the building materials that the beaver used, or do you just try to scatter it, knowing that the beaver can easily collect it and rebuild the dam?

I've never seen a beaver build with rocks
Mantis, you must be part goat because you are so sure-footed jumping around those rocks. (Thank goodness Roberta looks like Momma and not Goat Daddy. 😅) Seriously, how much weight can one of those flat tailed water squirrels move. Some of those rocks look to be over 10 kg each. This was a very orderly built dam also with layers of vertical and alternating horizontal sticks. From the scraping noise, there seemed to be a large number of rocks incorporated into this dam. They are amazing little flat tailed water rat engineers. I can guarantee you pissed them off removing this damn Hug Elfa. What does she want for Christmas this year?

consider that on may cousin's property they regularly drop 16 to 24 inch trees. then they pull them into the water where they can move them easily. The problem is that my cousin has a LAKE and they are destroying it, trying to fill it with sediment so the water will spread out. Funny too, there is a lowland that they could work in forever, but they don't like that area because it floods.
A of guys doing this have locations they have to visit again and again because the beavers don't give up. Great job! I really like your vids.
