Beaver and Otter Land, Twin Otter, Caravan, Otter, Grand Caravan, Twin Otter and Beaver Take Off!

Ойын-сауық

Welcome to my channel! In this exhilarating video, I present a nonstop showcase of Harbour Air and Seair floatplane action at the magnificent Vancouver Harbour. Prepare to be captivated as we witness a series of breathtaking landings, takeoffs, and maneuvers by a variety of iconic aircraft.
First up, we have the majestic De Havilland Beaver gracefully touching down on the water. Its sturdy design and impeccable handling make for a sight to behold. Following closely is the De Havilland Otter, exhibiting its impressive capabilities during a flawless landing.
Next, watch in awe as the De Havilland Twin Otter powers up and takes off, showcasing its agility and power. The Cessna Caravan then joins the excitement, demonstrating its versatility as it effortlessly lifts off the water's surface.
My search for the highly requested Cessna Grand Caravan was a success! Witness the aircraft with the registration C-GHAN as it starts up, taxis along the water, and finally takes off into the sky. This special segment is dedicated to one of my loyal KZread fans, Chris, who kindly requested the inclusion of the Grand Caravan.
But the action doesn't end there! We continue with another thrilling takeoff by the De Havilland Twin Otter, showcasing its impressive performance capabilities. And to conclude this captivating experience, we have an iconic De Havilland Beaver starting up, taxiing along the water, and taking off gracefully, reminding us of the timeless beauty of these aircraft.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to all my fans for their kind words and ongoing support. If you're new here, welcome aboard! For returning passengers, thank you for flying with me on this exciting journey. If you enjoyed this content filled with adrenaline-pumping moments, please leave a positive comment, give it a thumbs up, and consider subscribing to my channel. I'm constantly on the lookout for new and thrilling footage to share with you all. Join me as we explore the skies and beyond!

@swede5209, there is no more comfortable feeling to know you are with a highly skilled professional, you can usually tell, a good pilot is never complacent. The West Coast has some of the most challenging conditions in all of the world. A float plane driver(pilot)trained on the West Coast can get a job anywhere they want in the world, especially if they have an aviation education, or military time. Float time is a highly sought after skill. Happy pilots love what they do, it's a "thing" and they even love to do it on their days off, and many own their own private planes, or share ownership, and they do it until failing a medical takes the licence away, and then they try to pass the medical again, because they aren't ready to throw in the towel yet, most pilot loves to fly until they are told they can't., and then they try to get their licence back. Yes, they make it look easy, it's like a touchdown in football, it's a touch down in flying too! Thanks for your comment, come back again.

About a year and a half ago I did a face plant on the sidewalk, caught my toe on an uneven sidewalk and I wnt down, hard and fast. I was a bloody mess, spent 8 hours in emergency, 8 stitches and 2 black eyes later they let me go home. I was so fortunate, it looked worse than it was. No concussion, no broken teeth, no broken nose, just wounded pride. I have a tiny scar under my nose. I'll take the little scar any day, it could have been so much worse. More excellent footage of one of my favourite places. Working on the old theory that if it looks as though it's going fast even though it's not moving it's Italian, if if looks weird it's French and if it's over engineered it's British the Grand Caravan is almost ugly enough to be a French design. I get the impression that Harbour Air are buying up all the little competitors like Adams Air. Happy Canada day

Ian, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just made my dad sit with his "kiddo", and he watched it in my living room on "the big screen". He loved it and had many questions I had no answer for. From my place, we walked to Frankie's Diner, on Governmant St, across from Roger's Chocolates, for a scrumptious breakfast. My dad is an amazing historian of this great city. He has offered to help me with the history of Victoria, he and my grandpa were born here too. My dad has an amazing story, and I'm so excited he wants to share it, not only with me, but with the rest of the world. I am one lucky "kiddo"! Dad bought breakfast on this lovely Canada Day! Happy Canada Day to my friends and family around the world. I am so grateful to have a creative outlet in this amazing "thing" called "youTube"! My daily gratitude for today has a few "things". That I still have my healthy dad, and he wants to help share his knowledge with me and the world. The sky was blue, just like the colour of my eyes, I know, because I am grateful I could SEE the Blue Sky. What a complicated area: Aviation procedures request that pilots take off southbound in the north/south seaplane take off and landing area. Landings will most likely occur either eastbound or westbound in the east/west seaplane take off and landing area or northbound in the north/south take off and landing area. However, wind, water and aircraft load conditions may be such that aircraft will take off or land in either area, in either direction. A Seaplane Inclement Weather Operating Area in West Bay may be used for take off in some high wind conditions. Because of varying weather conditions, boat operators should not count on pilots always being able to operate completely within the designated areas. Therefore, boaters must remain vigilant at all times. To aid boaters, four white strobe lights, located at Shoal Point, Laurel Point, Berens Island and Pelly Island, are activated by the Flight Service Station up to 60 seconds prior to a seaplane taking off or landing. Also, seaplanes so equipped will normally activate on board landing/pulsating lights prior to take off. Seaplanes may have to leave the Seaplane Take Off and Landing Areas to make way for other seaplanes and may use the Inbound/Outbound Traffic Lanes until being able to return to the Seaplane Take Off and Landing Areas. In addition, a Seaplane Taxiway has been established North of Pelly Island for the use of taxiing seaplanes during certain tide conditions.

@russellblake9850, thanks for your engaging comment. Yes, Harbour Air has an e-beaver that is still in the "experimental" phase of certification. It's an incredibly costly and lengthy process. The e-beaver was at my home airport YWH, I have a few close up static shots, posted. The title of that video is "unleashing innovation". I didn't capture it coming and going. I was fortunate to run into the founder of Harbour Air, Greg McDougall, a very smart and kind man. He was gracious and answered a few of my questions. It is a goal to capture the e-beaver in action. Thanks for landing with me, I hope we can fly together again.......Corrie

I am pretty sure this is a VFR operation only. Pretty sure there are no ILS systems here or any other water airports in Canada. The only time I have flown as a passenger in a Twin Otter in IMC, it was configured for land operations, ie on wheels. Interestingly, that one had a sophisticated and wildly expensive INS system-it was 40+ years ago, before the U.S. made the full capabilities of the GPS system available outside the U.S. military. Another thing, Vancouver harbour airport is the only purely water airport in Canada with a control tower, as far as I know. It’s on top of a 40-storey waterfront office building.

I watch what I filmed, it is so much better on a big full screen. I can watch over and over and it never gets old. thanks for your engaging feedback. I am not positive, I think Victoria is also a water airport with a control tower. I think the runways have numbers too. Victoria has more than one water runway, if i'm not mistaken.
