Beautiful. I have been flying this plane for years in the Microsoft Flight Simulator. There is even a better version on XPlane 12. It's amazing how what I'm seeing closely resembles what you just saw. But you did the real thing.

Wonderful we're feasting on Beavers today. A few clouds always makes the aircraft photography better than wall to wall blue. That cloudscape was as amazing. Corrie, great video of your epic flight. I could feel the anticipation of flight just before take-off, with that rumbling engine. I'm soooo glad you got the chance to experience this long-awaited flight. It sounds like you had a great experience. I didn't realize how quickly pilots have to lose altitude to get into that harbour! One concern I have though is that being a part of SAR, I'm used to hearing the pilots verbally go through check lists. Did they do this and you just cut out the footage, or was this skipped? And resting one's hands on the yoke is a good way to get sprained or even fractured wrists during turbulence. It isn't considered "best practices". Again, I'm probably biased with my SAR work, as we have a ton of safety procedures and check lists. We try to work bad habits out of the pilots we train. Complacency leads to inattention, and inattention leads to accidents. Speaking of safety, thanks for mentioning the safety handout!

@Astromechy, thanks for your kind words, knowledgeable engagement and support, I am truly grateful. My time in the plane was one complete clip, no cuts. I can honestly say, I paid little attention to the pilot doing his check list, I was just excited to be up front and was gawking around the harbour. Honestly, not being a pilot, I don't pay attention to how a pilot should do their job. I always pay close attention to the safety briefing, that's my biggest concern. It was a smooth journey and I loved every minute of it. Can't wait to go again. My spelling error is an oversight on my part, I tend to make at least one mistake per video. Once I've uploaded a video, it can't be changed. Abbotsford Air Show next weekend, pretty excited. Hope you have a great long weekend. Best....Corrie

That's how the Ah, or is it Awe? Spell it the way it sounds. That's what I was taught when in school. here's another one for Your Information The Phonetic Alphabet teaches K as keelo and L as leema. Correct pronouncing is Kilo & Lima. Remember the vowels..a,e,i.o.u & sometimes y. Look at the "I"(India) it's either I am or It is. O & top it off, kilovolts, kilogram, kilowatts. Why only one word? two words.. kilo is one word in front of everything else. You don't hear kilahgrams nor kilahwatts, do You? I have to remind myself that sometimes you aren't editing scenes and clipping them together, but that this is just continuous video, with takeoffs and landings one after another. Just learned about squawk or transponder codes used by ATC the other day. The digits used are always 0 to 7 and the codes are always 4 digits long. These codes allow ATC to track a plane with a basic transponder. More advanced versions of the transponder protocol have digital information added to the 4 digit ‘squawk’ code’ such as GPS co-ordinates, rate of climb, etc. Pretty neat stuff (for a geek like me).

You'll find that there are also specific codes. 7000 -conspicuity outside controlled airspace, 7700 -hi-jacking and there is one for radio failure and another for in flight emergency which I can't remember. Here in UK we have one for traffic in the Manchester Low Level Corridor. Welcome to geek paradise. You'll also notice in Corrie's videos that the pilots say A-firm (short for affirmative) so that if either tower or pilot only catch the tail end of it there's no chance of it being confused with negative. @frankthomas855, Thanks Frank. I appreciate your honesty. This has only happened a few times that I've had zero audio. I will only use music as a last resort. The same thing happened in Nanaimo, I had no audio. For the Nanaimo video, I will make sure I do my voice narrations. Some of the Nanaimo seaplanes are new to me, I have some research to do. If you love engine music, this coming Friday's video has the lovely sound of a radial engine, from the inside. It is a full flight sightseeing adventure in my first Beaver ride. I was fortunate to sit in the right seat. I'm really proud of the Beaver video. Thanks for your always kind words and support, I am truly grateful. Best....Corrie

You weren't kidding about the wind that day. You can tell by all the choppy water, the stalled gliding of the plane landings, the full wind socks and waving flags, and rocking/bobbing of the boats/planes. I think the music is a good choice for when the audio is poor (or non-existent in this case), but I do enjoy your commentary. Another fine video. Keep up the great work, Corrie.

@Astromechy, I was pretty upset with myself for making another rookie mistake....dead equipment. Had the microphone not been plugged in, I would have at least had some wicked background wind and engine noise. I'm not a fan of the saying, "it is, what it is". In this case it is the truth. Needless to say, I was pretty excited to be seeing the new Twin Otter for the second time and didn't want to just delete the footage. I appreciate your honest comments, it's how I learn and grow. This was a a fun video to put together and I really thought the AI music was pretty fitting. It actually took twice as long to edit, compared to a video with background audio. Your always kind words, engagement and support means the world to me, thank you. Best...Corrie

@@leftcoastcorrie Definitely the music was fitting, and actually quite epic sounding. Thank your friend for the use of the musical accompaniment. Honestly, I'm not sure I would have commented about the lack of sound had you not done your previous videos with those great engine sounds! Great video.

Corrie, I just found out that the Coulson Group Martin Mars Water Bomber ("Hawaiian Mars") is being mothballed and is making its last public appearance sometime around mid- to late-August in Victoria, before it heads to a museum there. It is currently holding short (high speed taxi) tours in Port Alberni.

@Astromechy, I have been following the progress of the magnificent Martin Mars and have been waiting for a definitive date of it's arrival into Pat Bay. Short of this conflicting with the Abbotsford Air Show, I will be there. The Martin Mars used to fly directly over my home when I was a kid. It was a sight to behold and I will never forget it. I am thrilled it's new home will be the BC Aviation Museum. I appreciate the heads up, I would hate to miss this once in a lifetime viewing opportunity. I am sincerely grateful for your always kind words, knowledgeable engagement and support. Best...Corrie

@flyovercounty1427, thanks for your kind feedback, I appreciate your honesty. Every video is a new experience. I was so upset to have absolutely zero audio that I almost put it in the "trash bin". I knew I had really great visuals and decided to try this experiment. I will have a similar video in the not too distant future as it was filmed the same day. I will change it up and ad more of my cheery narrative....lol. I'm really excited about this coming Friday's video. It was my first ride in a Beaver. Captain Ian graciously let me record the whole journey from the right front seat. I was well behaved and didn't touch a thing, other than to fasten my seatbelt/floatation device and to review the safety card. The audio of the radial engine humming away is an auditory experience not to be missed. I am truly grateful for your sincere engagement and support, thank you. Best...Corrie
