Beating A.I. at Music Production

Музыка

As Artificial Intelligence continues to integrate into our daily lives, its presence within the music production industry is also growing.
This raises the question of whether musicians should be concerned about A.I. potentially replacing them or if this development will ultimately be advantageous.

100%. formulaic music will get figured out, but im not worried either. AI is still relying in COPYING us, not exactly developing music with a creative mind of its own, which THEN would be a problem for us since it can store infinite information about music and would "know' everything there is to know and make use of it creatively.

Your mind is using mechanisms to affirm that your consciousness is special, that you are unique but it is on shaky ground right there. I mean you are special to your family and friends, but that's only because of your relationship with them, otherwise there are countless souls out there just like you, just like me and the only thing that differentiates you from me is the circumstances that we have lived through. So we react to circumstances in a fairly formulaic way so that we can 'fit' comfortably into our niche in the world. The more we are exposed to AI the more we start to 'fit' into that niche. That concerns me a lot :P It doesn't matter whether AI has no empathy as we see it, look at advertising where instead of empathy, they use demographics to catch their target market (which is not empathy) but because we humans have empathy we suddenly get caught by their meddling deviousness. Look at the music industry where the market is manipulated into liking a type of music that is cheap, easy and repeatable, all they need to do is tweak the algorithm a bit and it all clicks into place and they continue to rake in the cash and song production stops being a viable career, becomes something that the 'odd' people do, not a proper job... Sure there will still be the live artists but most of them will be industry lackeys (heh, some doing covers of popular AI songs...) and then the meager handful of true artists whose renegade spirits will inspire their renegade fans. Yes I am depressed but looking round at people, I don't think I'm the only one.
