This map had a different origin story than all my other maps. Normally, I like a song and am inspired to do an Expert+ map, then I may or may not downmap depending on a bunch of factors. But this map started as a bit of a joke for my son. He loves this song, so one day while he was at school I decided to map it for him to surprise him when he got home. I mapped it on Easy with dots only (adding the arcs) and the whole thing (with lights) took about 2 hours or so. I let him pick the colours he played, and he FC'd it after a few tries...he was so proud. I posted the video of him playing the map, which you can check out here if you like:

That was going to be it. I wasn't going to make other difficulties or publish the one I had, because this was just a quick project for my son to enjoy. But the video of him playing this map ended up being my most watched video on my channel (it's not a big channel, we're talking ~700 views as of publishing this, but that's still a lot for me). Also, I already had the lights done, so why not map more difficulties?
I am so glad I did. This was an incredibly fun song to map. I was aiming for the map to have excellent flow and sway, and other than a few specific tricky parts it almost felt like it mapped itself.
The xylophone part (~2:16) wasn't too tough for this difficulty. I originally had it as arcs, but that was too boring for Expert. But when my xylophone idea for Expert+ didn't work, I just moved that pattern to Expert instead.
The ending speed up was a little tougher to figure out. Basically the endings for all the difficulties aren't so much downmaps as mapped from scratch based on how I wanted it to feel. The Expert version is probably a touch on the easier side, but I think it's fun to play.
