As a Bears fan, I agree that Trubisky is the weakest between the trio selected in that round. However, the offensive line play has been horrible this year & Trubisky did make strides in growth last year. I'm willing to let Mitch play out the rest of the year before I officially stop defending him. David Montgomery can't even get 4 yards per carry while breaking 5 tackles in the backfield each time the line is so bad this year.

@@patrickhayes606 a lot of people can't stand Nagy in Chicago. The "media" or "national" narrative is that Nagy is some genius & Trubisky is awful. Most Bears fans have it the other way around...that Nagy is overrated & Trubisky is underrated. We've all seen Mitch throw dimes when he's off the leash. But Nagy wants to keep adding 10-15 new plays every week & stick to short gimmicky trash instead. Nagy also refuses to give Montgomery the ball. I get the OLine is bad but Montgomery is the best back on the team & Nagy hasn't let him play 3-4 downs in a row all year. The fact that Nagy would rather go with gimmick packages giving Taylor Gabriel a jet sweep, Cordarelle Patterson a 3rd & 1 stretch, or Tarik Cohen a HB Draw from shotgun instead of the basics using a talented Montgomery to run all that should be telling of the kind of playcaller Nagy is.

All I heard in this was draft was: Tribusky - Good athlete, good kid, good family background. Mahomes - Monster arm, raw prospect Watson - Winner.

Highly unlikely. The QBs in this class were massively overrated by draftniks. Even QB-needy teams like the Browns, Jets, and Niners passed on this years signal callers in favor of more proven defensive talent. Moving up to #2 in the draft is normally quite expensive, involving multiple second and possibly first round picks to do so. If there really was that much interest, the Niners would have taken an offer from a team further back who would've needed to give up more draft capital than Chicago.

Deshaun Watson beat ALABAMA in the college football championship game right before going into this draft... and the Bears said “Nah fam, we really like the kid that only has 13 college games under his belt”.

@@blackmoonsage Watson is good not great. Trubisky is solid with a bright future. This video acted like Trubisky was trash. His first year was extremely promising. He grew leaps and bounds last year. This year he has had two substandard games. One due to rust from no preseason snaps. The other due to being rushed back from a torn labrum.

Oh man, I did not know that. Imagine Drafting Patrick Mahomes, and Alvin kamara in the same draft and on the same team. That offense would be one of the greatest to touch the pig skin. QB is a need for the Bears because do you honestly think that Glennon is the answer at QB? I don't leading to why I am pretty sure that's the reason Pace reached for Trubisky. He wouldn't make this bold of a move unless he was (1) certain Glennon is a sure placeholder and (2) Trubisky was someone who saw as a long-term everyday starter for the Bears. The problem is that the Bears fans have to wait at least a season until they actually see him play probably.

He should of been fired not for the pick itself which was idiotic, but for the fact that he didn't even bother calling or working out Watson and Mahomes. He had a magical date with Mitch and was infatuated with him. This is unforgivable if the bears had competent ownership he would of been fired year 3 of Trubiskys season at the latest.

The Business They weren't taken off tv because they didn't sell tickets, their late owner, Rocky Wirtz's dad, didn't want them to have a tv contract. Dysfunctional, yes but because of not selling tickets? No.

Wow, this aged well. Skip and shannon were dead on with this opinion. The only thing skip got wrong is that he said in 5-10 years everyone will be saying "what were they thinking" and that is literally being said right now in year 3.

Will never understand how gm’s could talk them self into taking Mitch over Dashaun Watson. He literally was the consensus best player in football while at Clemson. Dominant especially the two games against bama where you could basically see what he looks like against and NFL defense. Only reasoning was the same stereotypical he’s white so he must be the better pocket passer.

Exactly!!! Looking back at the draft, I don’t see how you don’t Take Deshaun in the Top 5, especially top 10. All the teams have had horrible to mediocre QB play over the past few years and have been terrible, except for 49ers who lose because of the position. Jags stayed so bad that they was able to get Lawrence. Bengals stayed so bad, they was able to pick Burrow first overall and also get Higgins and then Ja’mar chase the following year. That was a terrible QB scouting year. There is No Reason Deshaun shouldn’t of Went first because of his College Accolades and accomplishments. And then mahomes because of his greatness now. If you look at Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence’s college career, they did the same or less but still earned the right to be drafted #1 overall. Him and Trevor Lawrence led their teams to Two National Championships and they all have 1 championship win and one mvp.

And 3 season's later here we are 🙃

Bears and Browns may go 1 and 2 again for next year's draft.....

What crow would that be? Trubisky didn't do enough to win that playoff game against a team that barely scored 16 points. That's why it came down to a FG. Mahomes with this Bears offense and defense would have put up at least 3 TDs in a blowout of the Eagles. And you can take that to the bank!!!

@Breon Mitchell against the Patriots a few weeks ago Trubisky had to escape pressure to the side and he loaded up for a 60+ yard pass into the wind on a hail Mary and hit Kevin White at the 1 yard line that almost won the game.
