Good overview on trimming your beard I've watched a couple videos on trimming and I am still a bit on the nervous side - I had a bad experience getting a trim from a barber so now I'm a bit shy thinking about getting my beard trimmed

this is awesome
Hello and thank you, for sharing your skills and knowledge. Funnily, I did this too myself, only yesterday, but not the back sides. Though I have had a beard for 40 years now, I suppose it would have been described as a corporate style. Now retired I can do what I wish. And since I started growing my beard out I have started to take more interest in myself. Anyway, keep up the good work....
I’ve been wanting to learn how to shape my own beard, but i haven’t got the courage yet to do it. This video was helpful tho, & I will definitely use everything you talked about in this video.

Great video as usual. What about taken care of a beard ala ZZ Top style? I have already 14 months without touching it. Just timing the mustache are until last week that I decided not to do it until I can shape it like yours. (It's a little longer than how it shows on the picture). Again...great video. Thank you guys. My problem is my beard doesn't come in well or at under my chin and on my neckline on my left side from a burn when I was younger. Trying to grow it long but dont know if it's gonna look right.
How do you keep the beard hair under the chin, below the jaw line from clumping together in "locks" . I wash it everyday , comb it , use beard oil and butter. I cannot get it to be straight and cant keep the hair from clumping together.
Note shears point downward. Also note you must adjust to YOUR beard growth pattern.
I’ve had a beard since 1985 and that is exactly how I trim it. I don’t let anyone trim my beard 🧔🏼

@DAVID BUKER I'm 40 (born in 1982) and from 18 to about 25, I would grow mine, shave it off when it got too scraggly and (after brief periods of shaving), would regrow it back. When I was 25 (spring 2008), I finally decided to stay bearded permanently (I only regret not learning to trim it sooner) and, like you, won't let ANYBODY trim mine (I don't trust anybody to, frankly) because I've always been particular about the way I trim it, anyway, so, I understand where you're coming from!
Question: I have face that is lantern shaped (long) is there an optimal style of a full beard style that would fit my face shape ???

I'm trying to decide between getting a Wahl Detailer or a Philips Norelco MG7750 - any advice?
@livebearded

Wahl always makes a great product. There is also a cordless trimmer called the Brio Beardscape that is incredible!
Huh. And I always thought my inability to see the backline was because I wear glasses that don't correct the extreme left and right of my peripheral vision. I'll have to grab a secondary mirror now.
Plz make video with mustache set like you... If you already done it then send me the link plz
Thank you for the video. Can anyone tell me what's the average number of hair fall of beard per day?
@livebearded
5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, but for me personally it's between 20-30 a day easily. Sometimes more depending on the climate.
Only issue I seem to have is having the chin hair at a 90° angle from side view. The hair grows slow and curls alot! It's frustrating! I have beard balm and it helps sometimes but I need some advice on how to get it straight like yours. Tips?

This is more of a cut in video than trimming. That being said, what do you do about your upper cheeks? Do you just let it grow to endless length or do you trim that to a short length and let the length of the beard come from your lower cheeks/chin/neck?

You beard is much longer than what I'm going for. What about beards where the hair under the chin line is combed/trimmed (don't know which one it is) to be closer to the skin? Does this still apply and then you comb it? What's the deal there?

We do. Subscribe to our channel and look in the videos section. You will see longer beards. Or you can always check out our video blog section on our website. www.livebearded.com
I always struggle with the under beard. I can never get it proper. I always end up taking too much off and then end up evening everything out on my cheeks with a lower length. Trying to get a longer beard. But every month when it comes to the under beard, I mess it up and then gotta trim further down.
@livebearded
Жыл бұрын
the underbeard is an area where a lot of us struggle. We often take too much and it makes the beard look odd, less is always better when self trimming!

@@livebearded that seems so long?
My beard is curly with lots of stragglers. My problem is that it starts driving me nuts at a relatively short length so I think I'm always trying to trim it when it's too short. I can never seem to get over that awkward phase.
@livebearded
Жыл бұрын
Let it grow, let it grow, let it grow! Lots of patience and a little beard butter to keep it in place while you're getting through that awkward stage should do the trick! And always trim stragglers after styling it, never before!

Never saw a video by a guy with a turkey neck. If you have a profile like a cuetip you are probably growing a beard so you appear to have that chiseled jaw underneath. Trim straight back from front but no shorter than where your beard grows on you neck. Instant square jaw!
