Bear Grizzly 852 Truck Review

The 852 is a great all round truck, whether your commuting, cruising, or going fast down hills. The 840 is ideal for speed freaks.
Specialized Casting Formula - Completely new metal formula, the most reliable aluminum alloy on the market. The alloy has been specifically mixed for our trucks and not pulled from some generic melted down block. Each batch is pre tested and approved at our factory before shipping out.
Widened rear baseplate legs - Added thickness to eliminate any possible baseplate warping and to help withstand any heavy impact.
Effective bushing Seat - Fully-wrapped leaning system with bushing base lock-in. This allows you to get extra lean and no turning restrictions. It is compatible with most bushings out there.

I have 2 young boys I am encouraging to start a KZread channel. So awesome to see young people using technology like this. Keep going Jersey! I’m originally from Mt Holly and used to bomb that hill on a plastic GT Grentec banana board 45 years ago! Recently acquired a perfect condition Land Yahtz 40” Switch with the Bear 852 trucks fo $80. Still cruising and bombing at 53.

Excellent video that details to me , for the first time on any video I've seen, the ride differences between the 40 degree and the 52. Thanks.

Very nice review! Got these with a Long Island "Elixir: Atlas" dropthrough freeride/freestyle board. Beeing a rookie i have no reference from other boards, but... With the hanger at 52 degrees and the kingpin nut tightened a couple of turns - i have seen quite some speed wobble at higer speeds. But that may also be partly the board being quite light/flexible. Havent tried flipping to 40 dg yet. This setup does give a very nice carving/snowboarding feeling.

For people asking: just how much does it make a difference well here's from someone that's used the same bears since 2010. BALLS DEEP!: amazing stability and speed. with use of a radar gun (thx to local police) with the switch in between the 4 runs makes a big difference in speed and control but you forgo turning radius. For me this is perfect cause I barely turn when I buttboard. depends on what your doing and how you use your trucks. (average speed runs 60-71kph on flipped - 52-58kph regular setup) on a 8% grade hill. standar rule of thumb for bear: SPEED - flipped\ SLIDES- standard.

Not a stupid question. Also the lower the degree the more stable the higher the degree the more turn. So for downhill/fast freeride= 40 degree for freestyle/carving = 50 degree.

Paris 180mm is a great all alround truck!

@sakajansen The bear grizzlies will perform great for what you want, but so will the Paris trucks. Once you have a type of truck in mind then it is really a personal preference type of choice. Most trucks work the same and will work for any setup if adjusted right. If I were you I would invest in a few different types of wheels. You could get some small, harder sliding wheels for free riding, and some fat soft wheels for downhill and cruising. But to answer your question, get the new bear 852.

So I hate to go over-the-top nerd here but you don't change the geometry of the base plate by flipping the hangar all it does is change the amount of leverage you have... So you will still have the same amount of turn per degree of lean input on the board but it takes more pressure on the board to achieve the same amount of lean sorry I know it's totally irrelevant the only thing that matters is what it feels like when you're skating it but....

You mean the Paris 180 at 50 degree or 43 degree ? I guess the 50 since they are more standard. Paris are also amazing but 50 degree is sligtly less carvy than 52 degrees is your into carving... If you want to downhill... than choose a lower angle...
