What is Beach formal or Beach wedding?
It's typically used for beach weddings and it's comprised of the most formal things you can wear at the beach without looking totally out of place.
WHAT NOT TO WEAR:
1. Sandals
First, never wear any sandals with a suit. It just doesn't go together. If you wear long pants, you could just take off your shoes, take off your socks and roll up the hems. That way it works with the beach wedding theme.
2. Shorts
Don't wear a suit jacket or a blazer with shorts. That's maybe a look that is originally from Bermuda and they wear it with over the calf socks.
3. Short sleeved shirts
Avoid bringing short-sleeved shirts because either you go a little more casual and have a polo shirt with short sleeves or you take a long-sleeve shirt and if it's quite warm you can simply roll up your shirt sleeves.
4. Monochromatic look
By that, I mean pants or a jacket or shirt and even a tie all matching in the same color. It lacks contrast and overall monochromatic outfits are never flattering.
What should you wear?
First of all, if you think you don't have anything in your current closet it's better to buy something than to rent something because you can always wear it whenever you travel into warmer climates.
So what are the items you should invest in?
1. Casual closed-toed shoes
If you're often in warmer climates I suggest thinking about a perforated leather shoe because it's something that keeps you cooler and it's definitely more casual than a regular leather shoe.
2. Belt
Just make sure it picks up some colors in your outfit. Definitely, don't show up in shorts unless the bride and groom have specifically asked you to do so.
3. Buttoned barrel cuffs
It's just one layer of fabric and if you're really overheating you can even unbutton the shirt button on your cuff.
4. Suit
Go with something lighter colored maybe a seersucker suit or a lighter suit maybe in khaki or tan or you can go with a combination of let's say seersucker pants and a lighter jacket like just the one I'm wearing here right now.
Definitely, opt for more casual details in your jackets which means notch lapels or patch pockets rather than peak lapels and jetted pockets.
5. Accessories
In terms of accessories, it's okay to go without neckwear because it is warm. However, it's a wedding after all and you want to put your best foot forward. I suggest to either go with a knit tie because it has an open weave or maybe a bow tie because it's lighter in weight. You can also have bolder colors or summery colors and you can look for fabrics like this shantung silk here which is more knobby and more casual than a traditional wedding tie or an office tie.
On top of that, a little boutonniere in your buttonhole can be a nice addition. However, sometimes that's reserved just for the wedding party so when in doubt I'd rather skip the boutonniere and normally go with a pocket square.
So you go with shoes do you need to wear socks?
Basically, I always like to have over the calf socks that will take off. If that's too much for you maybe go with a pair of no-show socks so that way you have that beach look but you still have shoes on and you're not sweating or you don't get blisters inside your shoes.

I really enjoy your videos, and these have made me think about how I dress and present myself to the world. Rather than make drastic changes I have attempted to use the ideas in the videos to "Smarten my act up". Occasionally get compliments on how I look, especially when I wear a new dress shirt, and from your tips, I now own a couple of pocket squares. I do however have one pet peeve [and perhaps this proves I am NOT a gentleman] the length of the trouser turn-ups in the videos. I have a couple of pairs of trousers with turn-ups, and think the maximum height of turnup should be no more than 4cm or 1 1/2 inches [I live in the UK so I need to use both measurement systems]. The turn-ups in the videos seem much longer than that [especially the 'rose' coloured trousers, the light blue ones are much better]. Turn-ups are good as the extra weight allows the trousers to "hang" better, I think this point has been made in a previous video. But I feel the length is important. To have a pair of trousers which "have a turn-up" rather than trousers which have been 'Turned up', which sometimes always doesn't always look great'. One other point which perhaps isn't that great to share is that if one smokes [I don't incidentally] stray ash can accumulate in the turn-up, and leave a grey deposit in the turn-up crease, which means that the turn-up should be checked regularly. This was a problem my late father had with his turn-ups. Please forgive the presumptuousness in this comment, and please keep creating videos to add a little more dash to my look. Have a dapper day

Well the only formal clothing I have is a black suit (which is currently being tailored) from the recent Supreme drop and a white CDG button down and I don’t own any formal shoes so I guess I gotta go to a wedding in some sneakers

In a warm place, double cuffs make you feel hotter. So I would only go with single cuffs if you wanted cufflinks. That being said, it is much harder to find single cuff shirts for cufflinks. If you can't, stick with button cuffs.

Hi, can you help me please. I'm gonna have a beach wedding in August and will wear exactly the same pattern of pants that you have in this video. I have a matching pants and suit and am considering of wearing a white shirt and pink or sky blue tie. My wife suggested I wear white leather sandals as it is a beach wedding. What’s wrong with suspenders alone? I have a beach wedding this weekend and was planning on wearing a vest but I waited too long and my vest doesn’t look right with what else I’m wearing. I didn’t really want to just go with a shirt and tie so I got suspenders, the have tan leather that matches my shoes and the straps match my pants. I thought it looks a bit more interesting than nothing.

The shirt and jacket with shorts and over the calf socks just looks like they forgot their pants...
only problem is: if the beach is in southeast Asia or Mediterranean, it would be super hot to wear these. You will end up sweating!

I can't argue but also it was a moment in one game when some teenager for an evening meeting put on a jacket, a tie and white dress shirt with shorts, white short socks and white-red sneakers similar to Nike air max. That occasion was too formal for this choice :)

Feel free to do what you want start your own trend I do the same but and I’m 14 but I go to a lot of formal dinners and parties etc so I’m used to it if I’m in my city centre I get used to it if people stare at me.

I liked your videos.. Pretty informative.. But I feel like I'm watching my grandpa giving someone a lecture.. Cause your hairstyle just makes me imagine my grandpa telling someone all that and I'm sitting and listening to him.. Lol.. Not to be rude but you really seem from the Titanic era..
