Indeed. I don't think the BBC have had Noam Chomsky on since he said the antisemitism claims against Jeremy Corbyn were a manufactured smear campaign. The BBC don't like their chosen narratives to be questioned, even when it's a highly respected intellectual who is doing the questioning. Such people just don't tend to be invited on again.

I am glad that someone in the West is calling out the BBC. China may have problems, I know I live here, but human rights here are much better than in America. Human rights here were a mess decades ago, but not today. The cultural revolution has been over for a long time. Almost everything the US media and its BBC lapdog says about life here are lies and are very racist lies.

"Walking away" from a political organisation or agreement is hardly a human rights abuse, It's a political decision by a democratically elected government. The insistence on compliance despite objections is much closer to human rights abuse.

He was 100% right to say you asked me to talk about this so I won't be led into talking about something else. The point I'm making is if you're to make a list of human right abuses by two countries for comparison... & a number on one side aren't human rights abuses that suggests you're struggling to make the comparisons you claim you are. How was the "insurrection" a human rights abuse is another example. No, it was a weak comparison.

I relied on the BBC as my news provider of choice for many, many years. Being British myself, I was quite proud of it. I always knew they were somewhat biased, but was reasonably comfortable with many of their sympathies, reasoning to myself that it's hard for any news channel to be truly neutral. In recent times though, their biases have become so blatant and their commentary so dogmatic, that I rarely look at their international news coverage now. I actually find it rather nauseating. I think maybe they should rebrand to BPC, where P stands for propaganda. What particularly gets under my skin about the new brand of messaging from the BBC is the level of paranoia they exhibit when airing claims,or describing actions from whomever their opinion runs against. Rather than letting the audience draw their own conclusions naturally, they can't resist bracketing everything with phrases like "baseless claim", "illegal ", or "even though there is no evidence". That's the sort of thing the old Soviet TASS and Pravda were notorious for in the days when the Beeb held itself to higher standards. These days, I find Reuters or Al Jazeera have far fewer axes to grind. It's funny, I mentioned that I follow Al Jazeera to a colleague not so long ago, and she seemed genuinely concerned that I was becoming a terrorist. Such is the polarised world we live in now.

Please his job is to prop up the UN. One way is by truthfully highlighting the misdeeds of America which is easy because America has more than its share. America however is what stands between a despotic world and the one we have now….as bad it is, it can be worst and it will be if we get Sach’s way. The US foray into Iraq was to bring back the relevance to the UN it was losing. There was never any WMDs and they knew it. It was done intentionally to highlight the perils of unilateral actions.

I Remember this interview clearly. As a UK citizen it was embarrassing to watch it. I was so shocked at Emma Barnet’s line of enquiry that I sent Jeffery an email of support a few minutes later, and to my surprise he replied straight away expressing his own frustration. Jeffery Sachs is a fantastic straight talking guy who cuts straight through the BS. He manages to get his voice heard because of his long service and experience in the US administration, but he is sadly sidelined by the mainstream media and will probably not be mentioned by News Night ever again.

Whatever Jeffery Sachs' reputation as an economist used to be . . . he has proven to be incredible, delusional, & grossly unserious if he believes any real comparison can be made between the vigorously protected civil rights guaranteed to every American citizen in our "Bill of Rights" & the dozens of other amendments enshrined in the US Constitution . . . to the unelected Communist dictatorship that has brutally repressed the beleaguered Chinese people for nearly three quarters of a century, now. To hear an educated person making such outrageous claims, as a global pandemic that has claimed more than 3,000,000 victims world wide, with millions of other needless deaths likely to be added to the death toll the China's Communist regime is largely responsible for through it's abject deceit, state ordered censorship, & reckless disregard for the most fundamental international obligations to protect global public health, the entire world witnessed little over a year ago. The genocidal Communist regime did NOT hesitate to actively suppress critical information about the deadly new viral pathogen that first began sickening, & killing ever increasing numbers of victims in, & around the same southern Chinese river port city of Wuhan, where ironically 90% of the world's supply of the lethal synthetic opioid, FENTANYL, (one of the most deadly substances known to medical science, that quietly killed more than 75,000 Americans of every race, ethnicity, & income level in 2020, alone), is produced in a network of illicit drug labs, with the full knowledge, & active complicity of China's authoritarian ruling clique. There is no doubt CCP officials in Wuhan, & elsewhere throughout China arrested, disappeared, or otherwise acted to silence dozens of brave medical professionals, & scientists who tried to warn the world about the deadly nature of a strange new highly infectious viral pathogen, with no know treatment that was then spreading rapidly throughout the huge population of Wuhan, &other locals in Hubei province. doesn't even recognize the existence of any rights it's citizens may claim, that it can be compelled to recognize, much less protect, or respect& the multiple GENOCIDES currently being conducted as a matter of , that the US goes as far as providing similar human rights protections to foreign nationals who have intentionally violated US immigration laws, the national sovereignty of American citizens who

@@VanguardSupreme Well, if you think Detroit is the capital, you need to move us to the column with Wyoming, lol. Our capital is Lansing. We are sometimes referred to as the buckle of the rustbelt, a bit like being called the prettiest ugly person. We are considered part of the Midwest, but a guy from Iowa once told me we were like Midwest and east coast mixed. Probably our best time was the 90's, but from 2000 to present, our state ranking for personal income went from 8th to like 36th. The lifestyle here was truly ruined by neoliberal policies. Keep in mind this state voted Obama, Obama, Trump, Biden. I think that is because the name Clinton here is dirt. Someone told me after 2016, they had a choice between Trump and a snake. They were not pleased with either. Every person I have met from the coasts has gotten condescending at some point about Michigan. I actually speak several languages fluently and was in Japan for a month before Covid, so when I hear someone go off like that, I just know they're ignorant. Not everyone here is like me, most people speak one language here, but there are immigrants from all over the world here. I'm sure we are right on some fence, but we are expected to remember our place, for certain. Sorry, that was long.

I further hope that such businesses will do the following: -Federate, to assist each other (within limits) -Donate 10% of profits to local groups aiding the people, when the businesses can do so (mutual aid groups, community gardens, and so forth). My own business idea (mentally fermenting) is to buy reusable plastic in bulk and reprocess it into anything that can be useful, like pavers, plant pots, etc. Feel free to steal it for your location.
