amazing blues guitar duet between legendary BB King and irish blues/rock player Gary Moore same video than the other , but the sound came from the CD track

He might have been comfortable with his level of fame. He played headliner tours in arenas, I guess it doesn't necessarily need to be more for everybody. He was a hero and with "Still got the Blues" - well, I'm tempted to say he actually wrote a standard. Sad that he died so young. Now what about BB King? Isn't he underrated too? The earlier days of his career were rather racist times and now, guitar blues is not exactly the lit shit in times where the "black" music at the top of the charts is in fact a bunch of (partly white) people very much overproducing (all-in-all) pop sound... But if what if we actually open up and attentively observe BB King? He's playing with an amazing feel, so dynamically, and rhythm-wise - can't even write that down - check how he goes in sometimes, off yet in a perfectly smooth way - totally in flow. That's another kind of magic and possibly what Gary Moore was after when going on his blues journey meeting the legends. In improvisation, I personally often find it easier to go into freak out mode like Gary Moore used to do and would sound very sweet in, rather than to stay very much controlled and hold it together, yet staying perfectly smooth and in flow like BB King used to do. The main theme of Gary Moore's "Still got the Blues" is so simple (amazing it hadn't been taken before at that time), yet in a way hard to play, because you have to patiently hold back and really let those notes stand before playing a variation in order to get the lead guitars expressed correctly, almost as if he was to hide the message "see folks, now I now know". He was actually left-handed while playing a right handed guitar (I'm doing the same), and that makes a lot of things easier, but at the price of some precision picking in sync with your fingerings. For some folks, the cutting-edge style is a very sterile sound, so maybe some of those perfectionists took offense in that.

This is one of my favourite interactions between two of my favourite players. I wont call it a "duel" , coz it isnt - its more a conversation between friends. Watching this always brings a smile to my face. An amazing show from Gary Moore - he was one of the best, and the one guy I wanted to see perform , but alas, he never really traveled to Australia.. The smiles on these guys faces at the end says it all. The smiles on the back-up vocalists in the background. Cleary, Gary was genuinely honored to the core. No surprise there ..it's BB King. There must have been a point in his life that he couldn't have imagined that one day he would be performing on the same stage as him. Trading licks to "The Thrill is Gone" for crying out loud. With the legend himself. BB let him know how appreciative he was of Gary's interpretation the hit. WOW What a treat. I love this video. Special night/performance. What a mood changer. Would've loved to have been there. Could you imagine the energy in the room?! Thank God they captured this on video for the rest of us. R.I.P. to these two greats.

I saw them when Gary Moore released his still got the blues for you in Copenhagen
May they both RIP in Blues Heaven.

I'm 52 years old and I can't believe I had never heard of Gary Moore until today. You have guitar players and you have guitar slingers and Gary was definitely one of those. It's a shame he's gone and didn't get the recognition he deserved while he was alive💯
