Ha !! That was hilarious ! I have a '92 Crownline 196BR with the Rochester Quadrajet carburetor running the Mercruiser 5.7. It's tuned up to perfection and runs like a champ. But every time I get out on the water it's that first accelleration that stalls just like yours did !! After that it's fine the rest of the day. Have no idea why it does that !!

Interesting! Yeah mine has only done it 2 times that I can remember out of about 20 uses, still don't know what caused it, or if maybe I punched the throttle to fast and flooded it

@@ZachsGarage1 I’m thinking it’s something to do with mine being an old ass boat ! I’m redoing the floors in it right now. The rot was so extensive that I had zero intact pieces left to use as templates !!

That’s awesome man. You did a ton of work to that boat. Not many guys today could do what you did. Great job.

We have a 2000 bayliner 1850 capri that's a little similar to it! I love the boat

Hi Zachs..love your videos. I once owned a Bayliner Trophy with the same type of engine. Out of factory was able to do 20 knots no problem. But after an engine overhaul by the workshop marina, I just could not get the same level of performance. I am impressed yours run very well after all that work. What was your top speed?

It only died once, might have been user error on my part punching the throttle too fast. Other than that it ran great

Zach nice restoration brother. I have a 1990 Bayliner Capri and definitely needs interior repair due to rain damage and the engine is all good but hasn't been started in like 7 years, just sitting in storage. What do you recommend I do to get the engine to start again? Any help appreciated.

Thanks for the comment! I would see if the crankshaft can turn over. Make sure the oil isn't milky. And the odds are fuel has gummed up the carburetor so you may need to rebuild that. One step at a time though, make sure the crank can turn

Attach chain to engine and use as a anchor and replace with a better engine, that's all mercruser are good for

Upon what are you basing that claim ? He rebuilt it with all new pistons and rings after a machinist bored out each cylinder and put new cross thatch in the holes. That’s as good as brand new.

If the guy would just shut up and stop talking he would have alot more time on the water
