We have a 2000 Bayliner Capri, I use mr. clean eraser sponges for all my upholstery cleaning with vinyl spray cleaner. Works great takes off bug and leaf stains easily.

Reusing the old upholstery was definitely the way to go. You’re not entering the boat in to any boat restoration shows or contests , so there’s no need to spend the extra money having those covers remade. I wish mine were in that good of condition. As it stands , I’ll be spending some cash having new covers made for some of my seat cushions.

Nice video. Working on the Upholstery of an 86 SeaRay. You might try using a product called RedGuard, you can get at home improvement stores, instead of resin. Cheaper... Watch a few videos on shower re-do's and see how it is used to waterproof. I'm thinking on trying it. Also I just tried some SEM Vinyl coat white paint and was pleasantly surprised. It is a little thin so coverage took a little more than I expected. Keep up the great work, your boats is looking great!!

Miracle mist. At Walmart. Will clean up those handles and the vinyl great. Don’t use on carpet. Wipe on let sit and wipe off. Works amazing. Had same mold/mildew issues on my boat.

Try mr clean magic erasers on the vinyl... theres some kinda wizardry in those things... they work fantastic! I just cleaned up my old captains chairs yesterday with them and they look great now.

I think it makes sense to reuse the vinyl. You could do a never ending spending spree to replace everything. They look good the way they are.

to line up those bolt studs, just put a dab of old red lipstick on the tip of the stud and touch it down to the wood. drill they the dot. Every Gf has a old lipstick that was destined for the trash to donate to the cause lol.

I can see I'll be doing lots of recovering side panels, mine are totally saturated right thru the wood - Thats what happens when you let your boat fill up with snow for a few years wo a cover. But it does sure reduce the purchase price 😅

Hey man, I’m currently starting another boat project just stuck on the engine part, got my old one taken out but having troubles installing my new one with the throttle cable.

Why wouldn't you try a small vynl patch . A white patch could prevent further ripping or am I wrong

How did you remove the side panels?? We have a 2006 Bayliner 185 Bowrider, but can fiqure out how to take out the bow side panels.
