    Great series, watching your process and progress! In the process of going through the 3.0 in my 2003 Rinker and your videos gave me the inspiration that there isn't that much black-magic in pulling and going through its motor, really nice to see what I'm getting myself into. Now that this project has wound down, what I'd love to see is a lessons learned video, basically what mistakes you made, what you could have done to make it easier, and words of advice. Thanks again for the great video!

    Epoxy is AWESOME! Glad to see you using it! Just an FYI it's very tough and a complete pain in the ass to sand to make it smooth if you need to!

    # Personally, I would not use the old foam as it will have fungus in it and could infect the new wood as the foam is cheap I would replace it for sure Don't be cheap you want your job to last and look good as that foam has dried out and probably will start to crumble very soon and you will have to redo all your hard work nice video and keep on trucking Zach.

    Dude you inspired me to take on a project. 1991 Bayliner Capri 20’. I’ve almost got it down to the stringers but I’m working on the outboard motor now. I also have a little angle grinder hole on the bottom/side of the hull form the previous dude who attempting to remove the old seats. Smh. Any help you can send my way would be greatly appreciated

    I picked up a 06 tahoe q4 with a 3.0 and found your channel. Thanks for the free knowledge :) btw if my Q4 window is hard to close does that mean there is floor damage and or repair needed or is it normal?

  • @ZachsGarage1

    @ZachsGarage1

    it's perfectly normal for it to be hard to close. The windows are notorious for not lining up on almost any model. Some of the newer models now don't even have that latching window in the middle.

    One thing I don't know if you noticed is the holes in the original wood, I suppose these holes were for draining the water from the foam and also the air to come in. I am doing the same restoration on a Bayliner 2655. Thanks for the video!

  • @stinger4095

    Is it necessary to use the black fabric on the bottom? What kind of epoxy do you use to seal the wood? I just pulled all of my seats out of my 2855 to replace wood on bottom of seats. I need to replace the clear film also. Anything special about that stuff or is it just thin standard plastic?

  • @josephwilliams349

    The hole is to allow the foam to compress and retract without trapping air in and stressing the vinyl. The black fabric is called cambric and is used to make the underside look better.
