It's always good to have a friend like that when you are out on the water makes me Miss my bro Mike (R.I.P) he got in the water a few times and grabbed a few monsters that might of got away if I didn't have help fishing hasn't been the same without him don't have anyone that's down to go out and fish with me like him I wish I did we would of had a good channel if we knew about KZread when we used to go fishing almost everyday I want to start back going and start a channel so bad just don't know how to edit videos but I think I'm going to try it I miss fishing every day and on a different hunt of fish looking for a monster

Congratulations that was a HUGE fish. Can't help but share; remember River Monsters, Jeremy Wade, went to India or a European Country to catch the Wells (?) Catfish. It is said they are able to swallow a human. (?). Enjoy the joy you have in catching those fish. That grouper in Florida was nice size.

You should tie a Santee cooper rig, then cast up stream with cut bait or live bait and let it drift down. The rig will help prevent the hook from getting snagged all while you clear more ground with it drifting down ( this also works best by drift fishing In a boat) but try out the rig in that fast current and I’m sure you’d slay the catfish

@@adamrackard6129 first comment: This is so very true about them taking the bait and just staying put. the true monster size one's seem to be experts at this and it seems that the larger they are the better they are at doing it well. My largest flathead caught on a pole, was almost 6' long (a true monster) My line lay on the bottom for well over 2 hrs and never got anything more than an ever so slight flicker. After laying that long, I decided to check my bait as the water level was down to historical low, because of an inspection of the main DAM and I wasn't sure about the depth of the water. When I pick up and set the hook "so to speak" as I do when fishing this location, because of the possibility of snags. At first I thought oh crud I'm hung tight and going to loose everything, but gradually it started to come in. NOW I'm thinking WELL thankfully it's snagged on a fair sized bush or limb.. but at least I'll not loose my rig. Because there was no sign of any fight. Reel down, pull up, repeat.... I was out pretty far and as I got to about the halfway point... WOW!!!!!! To my surprise and family that was with me. A huge tail slap on the top of the water, Only at that moment did I realize that I wasn't hung on a bush or limb. Yet still not much of a fight, more like a train trying to drag me into the lake. I knew I had a good sized fish on but never imagined one like this... as it came close to the lake bank and we realized it's true size, I got the adrenaline rush of a lifetime.. I still get chills thinking about it. That was almost 40 yrs ago when I was just 16 and I'm still chasing that RUSH.. waiting for another "MONSTER" Flathead..
