I think the friends in the Reach are the Redwynes. When Cersei had the Redwyne twins hostage, arrangements were made for them to escape on a PENTOSHI galley.

That is interesting but the Redwynes are closely linked to the Tyrells. It's a maybe, but I tend to think that quote meant houses like Tarly and maybe Rowan.

@@jessesturgeon5327preston jacobs has a whole theory on this on his playlist “cersei and taena”. The close ties between redwyne and tyrell also give redwyne an interest in betraying them. If Mace and his family are wiped out, paxter’s twin sons horas and hobber are the heirs to highgarden and the reach through their mother (and mace’s sister) Mina tyrell

Not to mention, if the reach is going to fight young griff, mace is going to have to worry about his southern border against dorne if they are enemies. The dornish will sweep across the reach, and the stormlands and avenge Elia Martell. Unbowed, unbent, unbroken

I heard that the Battle Of Storm's End may mirror to the real life Battle Of Agincourt as Aegon's army supposedly has a lot of archers. The possibility of the Tyrells or Tarly flipping to Aegon is something I haven't considered! That would certainly stir things up!

Not nearly as many archers as there were at Agincourt (so many people treat Bryndenbfish's theories as scripture). Plus the parallel to Agincourt has already happened in the Muddy Mess. I prefer the theory that the battle will resemble Bosworth Field.

@@jessesturgeon5327 either way the elephants will probably be the decisive factor as horses and men often run from elephants on first encounters, horses don't know or like the smell and men don't know or like the look of the elephant to a Tyrell knight an elephant is a monster. I like the idea of using Pike squares plus I remember hearing that the Tyrell vanguard will likely arrive first meaning if the rebel host can break the van fast enough the rest nah turn on the crown or at the least turn tail and run

I believe mace tyrell will make a deal with young griff because he doesn't trust the lannisters so maybe he can just stay out of the war and help with the others when they arrive

Jon Con would reach out to the Tarlys - offer them some land - Likewise he might offer a marriage or other alliance with the Tyrells. (Not marriage, I think, they are holding out for Danryaes.) But it's different in each case - Lord Tarly is a fighter, an aggressive man, and Young Griff is his kind of guy, but Mace Tyrell avoids fights, is all about the bluff, and he will look at Young Griff"F/Aegon as just another risk taking kid who is about to get himself wounded or killed the way his son Loras just got him badly wounded.

There is a 100 percent going to be a battle. Margery is bethroted to tommen and it will be very hard to break the marriage off unless tommen dies. The tyrells already have absolute power. Margery is queen mace is hand, tywin is and keven is dead. There is 0 advantages in switching sides to join aegon when rhe tyrells already have everything they want. People need to understand rhe Tyrrell's only switch sides when there is power to be gained. Mace wants a key victory to show hes a general he will take the field vs aegon and and his army and will lose because of likely friends in the reach (betraying the tyrells). Not to mention the dornish forces possibly coming to help on time

It’s possible they may have surrendered Storm’s End to Aegon if they believed Stannis died. AEGON WROTE THE PINK LETTER: CONFIRMED! In all seriousness, I keep wondering what Arienne is there for. Daemon Sand says it perfectly in her preview chapter, he should have gone alone. If he was captured, he could claim to be a landless knight who defected from House Martell. It’s a massive risk for little chance of reward. There must be a reason Arienne is there regarding the taking of Storm’s End. Maybe Doran and Jon Connington are corresponding more than he let on.

I mean, they could always pull a Ramsey. Scatter the detached sieging force Mace left at Storm’s End. Claim to be sent by Stannis It’s really not a bad bluff as it’s really not as far-fetched as it seems - Stannis has recently obtained financial backing from the Iron Bank and Stannis has sent one of his knights to hire free companies in Essos. He actually recommends trying to hire the Golden Company due to their good reputation for never breaking a contract. The poor beleaguered garrison are unlikely to refuse to open their gates as the mercenaries have proven themselves friends by fighting the besiegers. After all, who else besides Stannis is still fighting the Lannister-Tyrell alliance? (At least as far as the penned up, likely information-starved garrison is concerned anyways). Edit: sieging not singing, fabulous though Mace Tyrell’s singing may be

It’s hard to believe the Tyrells are going to actually fight Young Griff/Golden Company. It’s also hard to see them losing if they do. However, they don’t seem likely to turn their coat again (to fAegon), cuz they’d be taking Margaery’s crown away; this time for good. Will Mace &/or Randyll Tarly be captured, thus becoming hostages demanding the reach withdraw support from Tommen?

I think you're over thinking it. Davos supplied Stannis through the smuggler's caves at Storms End. Jon Con knows about them and takes a body of men through them and takes Storm's End. It's not much of a battle. Arianne meets him there in whatever pub he's taken as his HQ, sees he has greyscale and she and her sand snakes kill JonCon and burn the pub down. Even as Storm's End falls the Maester there gets off a raven to King's Landing telling of the fall of the place. After Stannis burns Shireen, he's going to need a Baratheon heir and will legitimise Edric. Edric won't be a catspaw for Aegon VI, of his name.
