Brennan is unreal. There’s such a symbiotic relationship between his very obvious love for D&D and D&D itself being almost made for him

The last line was even more telling to me when he said he's glad he could earn his sister's love. I think Nikhil realized in that moment that these new people already consider him a friend and do so without expecting him to be a show off or cool but because they have seen him be real and fought together while risking their lives together and helped each other.

So at first glance, it seems like Brennan's character is having genuine moments where he warms up to the other characters in his parties, but . . . well, Brennan's a VERY good actor, and he's playing a *character* who's a very good actor. I'm fully willing to believe that he's playing a character who is performing all these supposed vulnerabilities to garner pity, but I just don't know for sure, and that's fun.

Absolutely love Nikhil’s sister Malini. Brennan is already such an amusing player but Jasmine compliments so well with every PC she plays against, and the two of them really captured that sibling energy very well (Malini’s “I have a stupid rowdy younger brother I have to handle” especially) I found myself loving Malini just as quickly as I did Nikhil, I really hope we see more of her and their interactions 💗❤️‍🔥

There’s something very moving about Nikhil saying no one’s ever seen me in pain and thought to do anything about it. I couldn’t think of anything sweeter , and if anything can make him defect from his sister it’s this. (Also full props to “I belong to myself”)

Can we just get ten hours of them flirting and talking trash about Brennan?

Just in case no one noticed at 1:20:51 (I didn’t the 1st time I watched) Aabria harmonizes with Jasmine singing “DM’s helping DM’s”! I didn’t know Aabria had such a lovely voice, AND she can harmonize?!

Brennan playing a 20 charisma character just works. everything that man does is just *chefs kiss*

49:14 This is definitely what sets Nikhil apart from the average asshole PC to me. He snaps back and hurts someone's feeling, but when he learns they weren't intentionally trying to hurt him, he falls back, explains himself, and holds himself accountable by apologizing instead of using his explanation as an excuse. I've seen a bunch of jerks use their jard life as an excuse to not take responsibility and the fact he knows to makes him likable despite being very flawed.

ugh... this chemistry is chef's kiss!! Gosh, and as if I could not love Aabria any more than I already do!!! You all...and Jasmine!!

I know, right?! The longer I watch, the less I care about the actual Battle for Beyond, I just wanna see these people banter for several hours!

Jasmine is literally such a talented GM, I'd only seen her playing as a PC on The Calyx, but her descriptions and character voices are just so amazing here, I really gotta check out Shikar (also the Mehndi is beautiful, and I love all the specifically Desi elements within the world)

So I feel like part of the stems from not playing with these people all the time but it feels like she's stepping on some moments when characters are chiming in. Brennan gives a description of something his character is doing to Ariba and she jumps in to give a re-explanation of the same thing. Things like that.

If you want to see more of her as a player, highly recommend The Sunfall Cycle as well. Some great player chemistry (despite some sadness behind the scenes early on) and a really interesting approach to applying D&D's mechanics to a very different kind of game.

That Brennan guy is sharp as a vorpal tack; loved the interaction at the end, when he asked them if they’d ever left the place they grew up in. Implying the consequences for remaining. When Joesephine’s character asks him who he was as a kid, he replies without hesitation “the same guy”. Great players, great DM. Lovin it

The sapphic energy I’m getting is immaculate, the characters have so much depth and relatability, just *chef’s kiss*.

The chemistry of this entire cast is just pure fire! I laughed so much! Josephine just seducing everyone is perfect 😁

Alternate title: 2hours of a porter, a scholar, an asshole and a swarm of hornets hitting on a triton.

I am so glad that Brennen and Aabria get the chance to play. If you are a DM you often get stuck in the role of DMing and don't get the chance to be a player (which is quite important to maintain perspective) :) Awesome vibes, a treat to watch and just amazing. Kudos to the whole crew and the behind the scenes team (production, set design etc.)

Everybody's face whenever Brennan says something!

"I know they're not my family and I know where my loyalties lie" my man didn't say a damn thing about being on her side. What a clever way to navigate the conversation without committing to anything.

I love how Aabria has the most absorbed/captivated expressions when she is listening to Jasmine, shows how good of a DM she is. I actually only knew of Brennan and Aabria b4 this but man this group in particular is brilliant, great chemistry with each other and Brennan is throwing one-liners per usual. Its also kind of nice with small groups you can clearly see a triangular relationship to each character and how interwoven they become. Jasmine also nails the more subtle differences in character and accents, where she sounds like she's speaking her normal voice but she's actually changed it and her pitch just a bit it feels like.

I love seeing dice tell a story cause we almost never know how things are gonna play out until the dice are rolled. there is always something magical about when a low stat has be used for a roll or when players roll against each other. There is almost never a dull moment.

My only complaint is that we’re only getting six episodes!! And we haven’t even seen the whole cast together yet! This series is amazing

Well this episode certainly didn’t help me become any more patient in waiting for next weeks… what a dream team.

"nikhil does, Brennan does not" is just such a freakin good sentiment for a player That being said, Brennan really should not be wearing plate. Coz he can't fly in heavy Armor!

I didn't know I could love this series any more than I did after the first episode, but good GOD. Words fail me.
