I really love the videos you make and watch damn near all of them every time you post, you reply always which is amazing and another reason why I recommend this channel to all my buddy's as well as being subbed. You are the Albert Einstein of dirtbikes my friend. You helped me out so much. Thanks! Edit: Would like to see another modification video on the current bike you run.

Pleased to hear that you enjoy the videos. Yes, I'll be sure to make more videos if/when I make additional mods to the 2024 300...

Speaking of multimeters, do you ever do the thing where guys are measuring their tps / throttle? If so, do you have a video how to ?

On my 2024 KTM 300 EXC TBI I have the Two Stroke Performance ERM which can measure the TPS voltage. It's a really useful and handy feature of the ERM: kzread.info/dash/bejne/no2EtLNtZK2aepM.htmlsi=GJxYWautl-YEVJMk&t=273 Yes, you could use a multimeter to do this but you'd need to make a plug & socket harness to easily do this.

@@TokyoOffroad Ahh OK. So the ERM can detect the current position and then use that as the new zero point if I understand correctly?

How much voltage would be a “problem”?

A lithium dirt bike battery should always be above 13v if operating correctly. Below this voltage you might start to see some starting issues, particularly in cold weather, cold start first thing in the morning.

@@TokyoOffroad i am sorry I did not mean to say voltage. I meant to say amperage draw. Meaning what level of “parasitic draw” is considered “material”. Forgive my first question.

Wouldn't it be safer to use the ground in the measurement? Using the +12V creates a risk of accidentally shorting the battery if the probe touches the frame/engine.

On my bike the probe will not reach from the battery terminal to the frame. So it’s not a concern. But if you have a bike where that’s possible, yes, it would be safer to use the earth connection. No matter which way you do it you still need to be careful and not short the battery out.

Lithium battery's shouldn't be stored at full charge, usually 50-70% is recommended. My charger has 70% as the storage from what I remember.

Are you specifically talking about LiFePO4 batteries used in these bikes. If so then greater than 50% charge seems to be recommended for long term storage. This source states " If you want to store the battery for a long time, it is recommended to charge it at more than 50% and, ideally, store it in a fully charged condition. The higher the charge, the larger the charge-retaining power of the battery during storage." www.evlithium.com/Blog/how-to-store-lifepo4-batteries-for-long-term.html
