Many of you have been saying things like "set all phones to FHD" / "set all refresh rates to 60Hz" / "set the Sony to FHD" / "set all phones to max resolution and frame rate" / "this is not accurate because you didn't set them to the same settings" - WELL, all of your answers are actually in the video and in the description, yes guys, that stuff isn't just for fun. I put a ton of effort into these videos to make sure the tests are as accurate as possible. If you missed what I said throughout the video, here are some points to answer most of your questions: 1. The Sony and iPhone cannot change resolution within settings, they are stuck to default so that is almost 4K for the Sony and between FHD and QHD for the iPhone. 2. The phones that do have the option of FHD+ (S20, 8 Pro and Find X2 Pro) have been set to QHD+ so that it is even when comparing to the Sony and iPhone. Side note, the Samsung cannot do QHD+ and 120Hz at the same time. 3. All phones that have high refresh rates (Samsung, OnePlus and Oppo) have been set to 60Hz - I showed this in the intro. 4. All phones were set to the exact display brightness which i showed in the intro too. P.S - The S20 drops brightness at 5% so i made sure to reuse the LUX meter again to get it back to the right reading on the LUX meter. 5. The Samsung, OnePlus and Oppo have been in 2 other drain tests of mine in the past few months - The first showcased FHD+ and MAX Refresh rates of the Phones (120Hz) - Here's the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKJ4m7F9YJiXhbQ.html / The second showcased FHD+ and 60Hz Refresh rates - Here's the link: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hqydqJWCiqWtic4.html / Side note - These tests are actually within the cards and end screen of this video. Otherwise, thanks for watching guys. I really appreciate the support. You have no idea how much work goes into a video like this. P.S - The S20 Ultra used in this video is the Snapdragon variant of the phone.

Considering the 6.5 inch HDR 4K panel and the smaller battery for such a screen, the SONY has done so well. But the 4000mAh is definitely on the smaller side for a huge 4K screen. Anyway, hope to see better battery life and cooling in the Xperia1 Mark3 next year.

No it’s a one edged sword that goes directly into the 1 II users’ butthole. They seriously need to do away with that ‘4K’ display. Because they are trying to compensate for the battery life the ‘4K’ resolution takes from the phone Sony can’t quite crank up the brightness as further as other companies do. So surely enough the Xperia 1 II’s MAX screen brightness is something like 400 nits. At that brightness, it’s not really an HDR panel anymore.

But could you add an idle time test in there also, like for example in the middle of the battery drain test, close the screen of the phones and just leave wifi open and let the phones idle for maybe 6 or 7 hours to really simulate how a person would really use the phone through the day, not constantly using it.

I love the 11 Pro max more than any iphone! Apple usually depend on the software optimisation for everything, but this time they used top level battery hardware as well. I cant believe I am saying this, being an android and Oneplus fan, i would still pick a top end iphone instead of top end android or op8pro anyday

as a sony user tbh ..its got soo many things that are running in the background thats pushing the cpu hard all the time.its got 4k upsampling for 1080p content running 24x7 and games that use the whole 21:9 res are running in the native resolution as the developers had made it to work that way..for a fair comparison using games that are not made just for the xperia(games that literally have black bars) would reveal how its using the battery. 7hrs of screentime is really something for a phone like that

Also Xperia is one of the dimmest phones on the market, if not THE dimmest among flagships right now, s20 range has almost 2x the screen brightness. In this test the reviewer made sure all phones had equal brightness, however in your day to day life Samsung would have been running much brighter than Xperia.

Well, technically yes but only if it kept the 60hz refresh rate. 120hz uses around 25% more battery which means that a 5000mah battery with 120hz would perform similar to a 3750mah battery with 60hz.
