To be fair Batman has ALWAYS been DC’s “A” list characters for a very long time & between him & Spidernan are arguably the most popular superheroes of all time so of course he has a ton of feats; & benefited a lot from “bullshit writing or plot armor. Captain was a “B” lister character that was always around with the Avengers but didn’t get recognized until MCU became popular over the last ten years

Ppl seem to forget that Cap can literally fight for hours without stopping and even a peak level Batman can't do that, and he'll probably tell Bruce, "I can do this all day." Here's a reminder for ya, a natural bodybuilder will never overpower a guy that's on steroids, and this case is synonymous with that🤷‍♂️

Labors of love every time

I've watched a lot of these kind of videos. There is always one thing in common: comics never maintain their own stated facts. Batman is a normal human at top form, but somehow has survived things that would be impossible. His plot armor is top tier. Cap, meanwhile, actually possesses a low-level healing factor, resistance to fatigue, an enhancement to the part of his brain that analyses battlefield and angles, enhanced strength, agility, and reflexes. Even if you call cap's serum something that just boosts him to top-tier human, somehow top-tier DC human simply doesn't die. Comics, not logic.

DC writers also like to say Batman is top-tier human, but it becomes ridiculous because then they assume Batman is as strong as any human ever was, as fast as any human ever was, etc. Would the world's strongest man by raw mass movement ever look (or run) like the world's fastest man? Of course not. You can do that to Captain America because he took a fantasy serum, which is the entire basis of the character, but you can't keep saying Batman's "just a normal human" and apply stuff that makes no sense at all.

@@mrmacross Exactly. This is the problem with this matchup. Cap scaling is crazy but it can be handwaved just like many other stuff in comics due to "superpowers". The serum makes it work, somehow. The problem is Bats keeps getting touted as a "badass normal that wrestles with GODS" but that just doesn't track. In order to maintain his physical prowess, athletic and acrobatic abilities and martial arts mastery he would have to train like crazy 24/7, leaving no time to be Bruce, patrol the streets or recover. Yeah, Cap also has that, but we can handwave that requirement due to "the serum makes it work... somehow". It's still BS, but it makes sense within the fiction of Comics as the serum just gives Cap superpowers so it's fine. So, for the scaling to work, either Bats has to have superpowers and thus lose his street cred as a "normal human wrestling with Gods" or we just need to admit he is character with the thickest plot armor in all media.

@@loganstepanik-ik6bu Batman isn’t getting past Captain America. It’s just not mathematically or even scientifically possible even within the realm of fiction and mythology. If the argument is based on the fundamental logic that Steve is a super soldier and Bruce is peak human but with absolutely no enhancements or super abilities whatsoever then cap wins by a mile. Despite how good batman is at fighting, regardless of how intelligent or tactical he maybe, his physical conditioning isn’t on a par with Steve. Stamina, endurance, speed, strength and durability, healing, Steve has the superior advantage in all of these. Consider stamina as the most critical element. Batman can only fight or operate at maximum for a sustained amount of time then he would fold. Whilst captain can do this all day. That’s just facts. If people wanna dispute this and start using arguments about prep time then you need to get a life. Batman can’t beat most superhumans but favouritism is the priority of the writers when telling a batman story, because the odds are NOT IN HIS FAVOUR!!!

The concept of Batman constantly improving his skills over time, doesn't take one thing into account. That being time itself. As much as Bruce would have evolved since his first encounter with Steve, he would have also aged at normal speed, while Steve ages slower as the S.S.S. in his system slows down his cell degradation. Without accounting for that, we are forced to accept that they would both still be in their prime, when realistically Bruce would be older and no longer in his physical prime, like Steve would. Fighting is a young man's game, as we see in MMA fighters and boxers, eventually degrade over time. I say if we're going to account for the passage of time in order to account for Bruce's constant pursuit of training since their first encounter, then we would also have to account for the passage of time and what that would do to Bruce's physicality.

There's simply just been less outings for Steve to really show off skill and improvement. It's always just kind of been implied. Steve has shown to master alien martial arts in a matter of moments and shown to perform better than those that have trained in it for decades so you can't exactly compare their progression, apples to apples. Bane has always been a dominant force and a good fighter but much of his performance is based on overpowering his opponent. Batman always strikes where outright strength won't help you. You can be the worlds strongest man, if a feather weight boxer shows up and hits you in the temple, you're gonna feel it or just straight up die. So it's really hard to use those encounters as a metric to determine pure strength. Skill, yes. Strength is another. Not only that but Cap matching and then surpassing taskmaster in skill is more of a feat than your letting on. Granted, we don't see the improvements that taskmaster has made but, a guy that can literally improve just by looking at someone is hardly going to be static. You pointed this out but you make it seem as though those improvements aren't going to be massive with each appearance. It's speculative but still understated in this video, imo. Batman should be stronger and faster by now, but there's serious doubt whether he actually physically surpasses Cap. It's stated he's faster and stronger than ever before and I know we want to take that very literally and include his short stints with super powers, but that's pretty egregious. It's clear that he's stronger and faster but by how much? We see that his combat prowess is improved but what's his sprint speed? What's the metric we can use to compare? Maybe we're just talking about combat speed but if it's an all around improvement then we should see those physical attributes increase outside of combat as well but we don't see those physical attributes really increase past what Cap regularly shows as far as strength and speed. I'd also like to point out that after the crossover, the narrative changed in regards to how the SSS affected Steve. It used to be just peak human performance. Now, he's considered super human. By a good deal too. He can run 60 mph, casually shows his strength over 10 men, he can throw his shield hard enough to decapitate a panzer tank. All of those were feats pulled from his, now soft retconned, WW2 past. He's only gotten stronger. Yes, Batman probably has comparable feats but these are far more consistent with Cap and are outright stated or shown blatantly, leaving little to the imagination. Which brings me to another point. The statement that says cap lacks the power with his shield is grossly out of date. It's an old statement for one, but there are plenty of feats where Cap has a *literal* cannon for an arm. The aforementioned tank feat for starters. However, he's also cut through a box truck like butter with one throw. Through the engine block and everything. Completely casual. He's also thrown his shield to outpace an icbm missile and still have enough momentum to cut through steel that was attached to that very missile. He's busted through iron-man's extremis armor. He's seriously hurt the hulk on several occasions. That shield can do some work. The guy using it isn't a light weight either. Also, sure. Bruce has dealt with enemies that have a similar method of attacking when it comes to throwing and ricochets so it's hardly something he can't combat against but captain boomerang is hardly comparable. Steve has a much better arm. Throwing harder and faster than CB could ever dream of. Not only that, but Cap himself is more of a threat than CB by himself. Imagine CB with the strength of base Bane and the skill and speed of Slade. Much different fight at that point. There's also the case of Steele. You never mentioned him. The dude is an absolute machine. Practically a Luke Cage copy. Completely bullet proof. Hell he's howitzer proof and Steve was still putting the hurt on that dude without a shield. The same thing happened with his fight against Nuke. Also glossing over his time spent in dimension Z. Or his combat prowess while completely depowered. Taking on SSS mercs in a 90lbs asthmatic body and completely sweeping them like chumps. Just a lot of missed feats that show where he's at as an all around combatant. I'll admit that there's more when it comes to Batman but there's still plenty of feats that Cap can compete with that weren't mentioned here.

Completely agree. It’s unfortunate that whenever these vs battles between Cap and Bat that the person creating them doesn’t even bother to deep dive on Cap’s history. Just the usage of Commander Rogers changes everything! But he was casually thrown in there like another Cap feat..

Well there is zero chance Batman is physically faster or stronger than Cap I mean it's just not possible short of nonsense writing, Steve has physical abilities that cannot be achieved by training, eventually with training no matter how hard or long you train there is a point of diminishing returns, the SSS pushes Steves body past what is possible for a human to achieve without it, which is why he has been described as the next step in human evolution.

He then put on that helmet of Ares and his power was multiplied ten fold and was merciless and killed wonder woman when she later woke up and went to remove the helmet so quite merciless.

Does people forget about Cap’s enhanced mind, able to learn an adapt quicker than other humans. He literally should just get better fighting an opponent. Cap is actually superhuman and Batman is peak human. I know comic book logic makes humans seem superhuman but I think they are still what they are intended to be. Also Marvel writing had been crap for about a decade now and they sometimes use Cap to show how good other characters are at fighting. Back in the 80s and 90s, Cap was indeed treated as Marvels best fighter.

Cap has superhuman strength as well being able to stun spider-man, break chains and carry telephone poles on his shoulders. Regeneration is also a thing that comes with the serum, dude endured an entire house collapsing on him after getting beat down and was fine minutes after, he also has the ability to heal broken bones in short span of time. Caps brain has also been stated to work faster than computers, if we’re not bringing in any bullshit amp or OP armor on Deathstroke than he really has nothing that puts him above Cap.

There's actually an explanation for why batman can do this apparently he learned to hypnotize his opponents so they believe he's invisible, he learned it off the shadow pulp character. If he can do it to superman he can easily do it to cap, so yeah the stealth hack breaks this fight and secures batman the victory.

I am wondering who would win between Hulk vs Doomsday. It would be a interesting fight to examine.

In the old table-top game Marvel Super Heroes, Punisher is listed as the same fighting skill as Cap. A Captain himself in the USMC. The big difference is heart and that Super Soldier Serum.

Punisher is nowhere near Cap as a fighter. Punisher is routinely curb stomped by Daredevil when he has his weapons taken away while Cap with a bullet in his side took out Daredevil pretty easily.

From what I've seen captain America has way more feats as far as physicality and Durabilty goes. And when it comes to hand to hand combat, that's where it can get controversial plus batman gadgets vs cap's shield which is virtually indestructible.

i like street lvl characters more tbh videos like this are enjoyable and fun to watch

I know right...they actually have limits and it's interesting to see them push through with either will or more skill.

Well, I remember reading somewhere that Steve does train to fight Hulk level threats. Not saying he is herald level, just that he and those on his level aren't fodder compared to them. You've also mentioned in your most recent video of Spider-Man scaling that is reasonably higher than Batman scaling. Though I know that's Spider-Man, not Steve, I'd assume Steve is in a similar ballpark. I also remember reading that Cap, like Batman, trains to surpass his previous self. Something akin to being able to defeat himself from yesterday or something. Sure Batman can match and surpass that level of growth, but it goes to show that Cap doesn't just stagnate from each skill feat. It's also worth noting him at times outskilling people who greatly improve overtime such as Taskmaster. I agree Batman is significantly more skilled, but Steve should be skilled enough and strategically smart enough so that his superior physical stats even the odds against against Bruce. I honestly see the fight going either way.

This is what I mean. Spider-Man vs Batman is almost as unfair as Superman vs Batman. Peter Parker is as smart as Reed Richards, weaker only than the Hulk, the Thing, and Thor, slower only than Quicksilver and speedsters, and has more agility and reflexes than literally everyone. But Batman will win because he has bug spray. Typical.

@@usernametomato6514 You know that intelligence is genetic and that education has no bearing upon it, right? Einstein was just as intelligent being a patent clerk as he was being a theoretical physicist.

Well, that makes it seem like the chances of either of them winning have the same probability as a coin toss. Because both of them are training and getting stronger and smarter every day. Say one of them wins, the advantage disappears when the other trains himself to be better. In a realistic setting, I feel like it's impossible to pit these fighters together because they're too smart to be manipulated by cosmic beings, and mind-controlling them doesn't show their true potential.

Taskmaster is limited by only being able to ape street level humans like Daredevil, Punisher etc. Steve would get the drop on him for the same reasons he’d outdo Bats. Stamina & speed. Rogers has never stopped learning or training. Hell, he trains for fun on his downtime. He’s trained at least a few dozen Avengers in unarmed combat which has saved quite a few of their lives over the years.

The Godsphere is above the local multiverse in DC, and the Speed Force barrier which allows for travel throughout all of time. Ares and his knowledge of martial arts would transcend that. He’s also platonic per being in the Godsphere, unironically having platonic martial arts 🤣

The problem with talking about fictional characters fighting is we rely too much on triangle theories. Which if you know anything about real fighting styles make fights so triangle theories don't work in real life.

Captain America would almost always win because he literally never tires like Batman would. The Super Soldier formula gives him the edge. I'm a fan of both characters, and have been reading both since 1977. Both are peak human, but the Super Soldier formula gives Cap the edge. Captain America has beat many people above his skills. One on one Batman vs Cap is like Batman vs Deathstroke. The difference is that Captain America is smarter. He's been fighting longer. Don't forget, Steve always continues his training as well. Iron Fist taught Cap a lot. So have many other fighters. He's constantly pushing himself, just like Batman.

Finally, a fair fight. Usually they pit a clear winner against a clear loser and then argue for the loser. I'm excited to find out just how close this fight is!

This was a great video and had many great points. Yet there are a lot of misunderstandings in this video as well, along with the worlds and abilities used to make the comparisons. Depending on the world you placed each of them, you would find their differences wouldn't be as great as you concluded. DC tends to overhype their characters, as in shown in your conclusion of Batman, who is 100% natural human, having physical abilities well beyond even the training and determination he has. This is not something you see in Marvel as much, and the comic tends to stay true to the character's natural abilities. I could go on and on with these issues, but ultimately as a fan of both these characters, as they are my favorites in each universe, I would agree that, in general, Batman would be the victor, but it would be dependent on the specifics of the situation and how willing you are to accept the differences of what each universe allows to affect this comparison.

Just do a quick google search on both of their maximum strength and you'll see that Caps is far inferior in terms of strength lol not even close. Don't think just because they're both super soldiers, they have to be equal

⁠​⁠@@sorin-3510He’s not any of those things. Cap is faster as he’s been able to run at 75mph as well as react to bullets after they’ve been fired. Cap is more skilled. Cap has better senses and he also has a healing factor as he’s been able to heal from a gunshot to the head in a matter of hours

@@revalier3670 Can Bats lift 1000 pounds? Cap has been seen in the comics *casually* lifting that for REPS in the gym. If Bats can do that, I am sorry, he is not a normal human without superpowers. That's the problem with Bats. People just need to stop pretending and admit he is either walking Plot Armor or has superpowers, in which case he loses his street cred for being a "badass normal human wrestling with Gods". You can't have it both ways. Either Batman has superpowers and then his scaling is believable or he doesn't and then his scaling is absolute horsehockey. Cap has some BS scaling as well in the Comics, but at least we all admit he has superpowers and the serum is so valuable, so precious and one of a kind than in the Marvel universe there have been many many attempts to replicate it.

CLEARLY, Rogers is faster, stronger, more durable, longer stamina, and quicker reflexes. So even with prep...Cap Wins.

Batman and Iron Man are actually more similar because Iron man learns from his mistakes, and if Batman loses to an opponent, he figures out how to beat that opponent.

I disagree because I just think the scaling is a bit off, Nightwing even doing any damage to partial Kryptonian batman who could punch A HOLE through Bane should just be considered an outlier, not to mention I feel like Cap has been constantly improving same as Batman has. But honestly you put so much effort into these videos I like it anyway.

It’s not an outlier considering everyone improves; the whole video is pretty much Batman losing badly then winning severely. It’s consistent. Cap has improved, that’s obviously in the video, it’s just less than Batman and lacks the quantifiable multipliers that Bane/venom provides.

​​​@@CRISIS_COMICS don't where I read this but when Shang chi was sparring with Cap he says cap becomes more and more difficult to fight because he adapts simply from observing but I guess it's negated by batman who has shown the same ability (to a higher degree) when fighting karate kid by adapting when he used the legion flight ring and holding his own against a combatant who is a far more advanced fighter (karate kid saying he could learn much from batman). Damn there is just no way around it Bats is better. Then there was the whole multi-tasking managing multiple Calls while sparring with wonderwoman and he was using excrima sticks like nightwing (I seriously wish batman would use more melee weapons)

On the court of Owls talons almost beating Batman in their first encounter it's stated in the comics that he wasn't in his suit at the time and as a result didn't want to expose his secret identity and instead tried to fight while hiding his true skill and underestimating the Talon and allowing the Talon to land some effective strikes.

@@mwperk02 Eh, depends on what he’s armed with but I’m speaking within more of the terms of their base abilities. Gadgets, martial arts, heck even willingness to kill included for Deathstroke, Spider-man’s physical abilities are simply too much for Batfamily tier characters without a godly amp such as some of Deathstroke’s temporary special abilities/Gadgets such as him with the Godkiller sword iirc or Speedforce. They’re not included, just base powers and abilities. I wish your points would be true or a case could be made for Nightwing to stand against Spider-Man in a similar way but the Spidey cast is tiers ahead. Mid diff? Maybe only if Spider-Man isn’t trying at all and wants to go, he’s sitting around which isn’t likely.

Amazing and detailed video, I'm glad I found this channel. As for the fight, on paper Cap should have this, as he is just as skilled, but stronger, smarter and faster than Batman. However, we all know if this fight was done by the publishers it would be either a tie or a high-diff win for Bats.
