This could be be the perfect blend of mat Reeves detective and gritty Batman with the animated series story telling

I'm glad it looks really dark, the world isn't black and white. It was stupid that people freaked out over Superman killing Zod especially when he had no choice. That's part of what made the MCU so great is that they weren't afraid to go dark because, in the end, it made the movies better and more appealing to adults whereas kids don't care.

It's funny how watching batman as a kid, we were on the side of the police, and it was cool that Gordon was a cool cop that knew him, but the cops were just "stupid" or incapable of dealing with the super villains, not villains themselves. Now our whole society has shifted as Gordon is the one good cop but the rest are almost essentially villains. This whole trailer is painted as the cops are part of the problem. And it fits with what we think these days.
Blows my mind Max saw this and was like pass. Glad Amazon saved this from being shelved forever.

What makes it even more meaningful is that it's a new voice actor speaking Batman since Kevin Conroy died. And they chose right.
To be clear for anyone confused. This series is the start of James Gunn’s new universe called the DCCU DC Cinematic Universe. The voice of Batman is Michael Keaton, who will be the Batman going forward. But only his second movie, Batman Returns is canon. Neither the original Batman movie nor The Flash movie are canon. Robert Pattinson’s Batman will be the son of Keaton’s Batman in future movies. All past DC movies are not canon except episode 4 of Peacemaker. Superman will only appear in movies and will never interact with any Batman. The Suicide Squad anime is only canon on earth 2’s multiverse and Greg Berlanti’s Arrowverse is all canon. I hope this clears up any confusion.
