Yeah, i am from Rome and we actually came up with the most fucked up things we could come up with. Piazza Navona was used as a naval battle arena too for it's size. Now that you mention it, the colosseum IS sturdy enough TODAY to host gigs, rock bands, anything. They should only pave it, it pretty much can stand anything. If you've never seen it, should you come in Rome, the arena is actually smaller than it makes it look like, but whatever! SPQR.

What movie doesn’t seek to garner as much appeal with the audiences, especially the younger audience who makes up the vast majority now. I’m on the older side of Gen Z, Gladiator was a childhood movie for us as well. Nothing abt the music choice ruined it nor is making me think it’s gonna bomb. Literally almost everybody making such comments are white pfp bc they don’t like rap.

You know Ridley probably called Denzel, maybe even went to his house and was like ‘Here's the script read it when you get a chance and get back to me, but let me tell you what I want to do and why I think you would be great for the part.’ Denzel doesn't do these types of movie options and Ridley would know that so would approach him in a way that Denzel would see how serious Ridley was about him being in the movie. From what I know from Ridley Scott, it very much seems like something he would do, if for no other reason than if you're a big-name director going after an actor of Denzel’s level about a movie you're doing. You have to go directly to them and not through their agent, it's just that level of respect that he’s earned.

Are you unaware that Denzel and Ridley knew other and that Ridley’s brother, Tony Scott, a brilliant filmmaker in his own right, directed some of Denzel’s greatest films and was a beloved friend of Denzel’s??? Tony Scott committed Suicide out of the blue, what was it, about 7 years ago? Took everyone by surprise because he had everything. It is presumed he had incurable cancer. I think this film is a salute to Tony and his relationship with both of them.. ( do your homework)

Btw the song in this trailer was made over 10+ years ago, it isn't modern, and it actually fits the movie if you actually listen to the lyrics. Plus it's not like it's going to be in the movie, it's just a trailer song. Do you know how many times they've used Rock, country and Pop songs in knight movies, or Roman movies 😂

How can DJIMON be disrespected when the Director, who put the film together in the first place, the first time hired him? And that same Director some years later May have found that DJIMON AND CROWE WE’RE NOT INTERESTED IN FOOLING AROUND WITH THEIR LEGACY FROM THE FIRST GLADIATOR.

@@rari2943 Its not down to Scott, its the studios these days. Look at Napoleon; they stuck a modern song in that halfway through. The studio thinks its appeals to youth. The target audience of this film is 12 to 30, fans come second....sadly. The music in the film is by a good composer (Harry Gregson-Williams) who has done loads of films, and Scott has used him before on The Martian, Kingdom Of Heaven, and The Last Duel.

Sorry no this is a pass for me.. the first gladiator movie what's perfect as is. They showed way too much in a trailer to the point why should I go and pay money watch this on Netflix on best. Denzel Washington threw me out of it... It should have been the Middle Eastern person.

I want more from that trailer and so this movie is after the first one

The money is all on the screen for sure. Looks like a spectacle. But also looks like a bloated, unnecessary, tonal mess with characters and themes that will pale in comparison to the original. The super contemporary feel of the trailer especially with No Church in the Wild really just cheapened the whole thing. I want to be excited because Gladiator is one of my fav films, but im not confident.
