Batik | marble lines with paint brush

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today i make my video on texture with hot wax. As you know Batik is Indonesian technique of wax resist. We can dye the fabric after batik and paint it too with silk paints. In this video i applied hot wax with paint brush and than paint the silk with the silk paints. You can use silk dyes too. Heat the wax and than apply the melted wax with the brush. We can make Dots, lines, shapes and designs with wax. There are few important points to discuss.
1- Heat the wax maximum 120c .
2- Dip the brush in hot wax for 10 to 15 seconds.
3- Apply the wax quickly and make the design fast otherwise wax will solid again.
MATERIALS I USED:
1- Fabric ( Habotai 8m/m silk)
2- Wax (60% bees wax, 40% paraffin wax)
3- Paint brush 2.5"
4- Silk paints
5- Wooden frame
6- Lamp and stand

I tried batik painting for the first time few years ago. I hated that I couldn't get used to tjanting so I used my paint brush. Though that eventually destroyed my brush due to the heat. Suddenly I thought about getting artsy again with the pandemic ongoing. Thank you for your videos. It surely restores my motivation to learn batik painting again.

Thanks. I just iron the fabric with newsprint sheets place few under the fabric and few over the fabric and iron. After ironing dip in hot water with two tbsp of washing powder. You can watch the video i linked that video in this video and check the video description.

Thanks a lot for your reply..I have seen all your videos..Just confused with various process.. some says for color fixation, sodium silicate is important..some use fine gum for brush batik..what should I use actually for brush batik..

I didn't use anything.I used iron fixed silk paints no need to apply anything on the fabric and no need to dip in color fixer.
