It takes us into their bed chambers as well as into their latrines, into their kitchens and stables. Archaeologists and historians dispel many of the myths and legends, that surround them even today.

This have to be one of the most honest, informative and balanced documentaries about castles i have ever seen. And i have seen A LOTT.

I loved the Italian architects who had studied the unusual apertures & design of a certain Italian castle-discovering it to have been Romanesque in its use of engineering (utilizing gravity & unbelievable skill to construct pipes throughout the castle which transported water to every room )…. My IDEAL medieval castle : combining form, function AND comfort ❤
I have been to so many castles. I love each one.
Fabulous. Loved the pieces of film ? play ? that demonstrated the life. Probably a bit romanticized, but absolutely wonderful.
Interesting and well constructed documentary. Ideally it would have been nice to have seen a wider - stylistically and geographically - selection of examples.

Have some castles been built which had low ceilings (& curtains?) to keep heat down where it's needed?
Is the castle that was suppose to be finished last year finished ?

Maybe later ones but if you watched the documentary you would learn that in their early days they were very necessary for safety
Bathroom? In the Middle Ages castles? Usually there was a tub brought to the Lord’s bedroom
