This is the Aussie Vocal Coach Bass Vocal Range Workout. The four vocal exercises included in this workout are designed to improve and strengthen your bass range. Make sure you don't sing too far past your comfortable range. A note or two higher than your comfortable limit is the goal. The vocal range of this bass workout is C2 to E4.

I cannot THANK YOU enough for this video! My 26 year old son is Autistic (non-verbal) and he loves singing along to this tutorial. He rarely talks but when he does he tends to mimic my daughter and I by using a high pitched voice. I'm already seeing him enjoying using the deeper tones in his voice even when not singing (in regular speech)! I'm going to check out your other videos as well. Thanks Again! 🎼🎵🎶

@@bradycall1889, no, I have always been a bass. It's just very few choral roles want or need a true bass. The majority of choral music relies on basses that are more along the lines of a low baritone.... rarely getting below F2. When I played in bands and sang, I pretty much never sang below an A2, either. I was always of the belief, basses had no place in a lead role or in popular music. Discovering the a cappella basses changed my view entirely.

It was quite a bummer and I haven't been so musically inclined since but doing this warm-up helped cheer me up and reminded me why I so love to sing. Thank you for the great content and I'll be planning on watching more to bring back my bass 2 voice up to par again.

Oh my god these go so high. Bit of a stretch on the very lowest notes too, I broke into a solid rumble on a couple of them. These are great exercises though, and it's really handy to have in a video format. I think I'll start doing this once or twice a day. I wish I had one for bridging registers though. I've technically got up to a G5 for singable range but I never see anything online for basses who want to learn to use their upper register.

Ian Hello, your Vocal Range Workout for Bass voices is wonderful. It's really helped build my bass notes, as I'm trying to deepen my light baritone into more of a bass. Is there any chance I could download this C2 - E4 onto a cd that I would be the only one using it? If not, I understand, perhaps because of copyright. Anyway, these four exercises are great. You've helped so much! You asked which of the four is hardest--probably the second; I kept struggling to do the low notes in no. 4, and stuck with it, and it was great!

I didn't want to lose the higher notes while going lower. I can go to a chest a1 but i lose the high notes if i only practice bass. BTW, focus on technique as well. While doing the exercises, focus on breath support, larynx relaxation and positioning: on the lower notes, push the tongue and the Adam's apple down while focusing and driving the sound ,,behind the eyes" (you almost feel vibration in the cheeks) with a more open mouth (think big O). In the mid range focus on normal breath support and position (unles you're going for the bassy sounding voice in the mid register) and anything that's over c4 think of driving the sound behind your teeth, more focused. Hope it helps. Cheers.

This is bariton exercises, not bass. The problematic pitch is F2 and F#2 where the larynx has to make a folding back, a turn. You need to give exercises down to C2 for a bass. You keep it just above the difficult point, starting with G2 which is too easy, too high. I come all the way down to A1.

Ian, or anyone, I could use a clairification. You show that this is a c2-e4 workout, yet the lowest piano note that you play is a c1 on my piano. So, are we really going down to C1 or am I missing something?

A can sing a comfortable D2 in the morning before I've warmed up but can't at any other part of the day. Is there a way to keep my low range throughout the day or am I boned? I'm only 16 and am still developing but maybe there's some tricks to stay more consistent.

Main tip for consistency in my opinion is to get an experienced singing teacher that's a Bass or Bass-Baritone as they would have a similar voice and would be able to share their experiences with getting consistent low end notes

In the 10 minutes it took to complete the exercises it got a lot easier to reach the absolute bottom of my range with is about Eb 2 which I think is pretty low for a 16 yo still going through puberty. Don't you think so?

Work on your low range It will helps to reach high notes Remember practice both low and high notes When I start singing 4 years ago, my highest notes was C4 and it sounds awful Slowly my range increase D4-E4-F#4 then G4-G#4 Now I’m practicing A4 , I can reach it but it sounds like a Dying cat Lol And believe, I have a low speaking voice So keep practicing and you’ll see in times you’ll be able too

Practice finding your subharmonic register. I’ve been doing so for about 10 months now and I’ve noticed that lowest chest-fry note went from a D2 to an A1 with a fry extending down to an E1. Check out David Larson, David Kahn, and or course Geoff Castelucci’s KZread channels for tips and more info. Remember, it takes quite a while to get the hang of and it’ll definitely feel infuriating the first couple of months because you think you’re getting nowhere.
