For once, someone made an interesting and honest video of a tough trip. Anyone can catch fish when the fish are biting. But when it's snowing and blowing? Man up and see if we can't learn something! :) Appreciate your story and I've subscribed.

Hey Justin. Douglas is one of my home lakes. You had the right winter pattern with that steep rock and crankbaits. East Tennessee can be tough to fish... Most of the big tournaments here are won by locals. Not likely to happen, but if you ever get back up this way, we can put you on some fish.

I fished the BASS open the week after this tournament. Day 1 was raining and cold, i came in with 2 keepers. Day 2 i get paired with an Ex-Elite angler Kyle Fox. He got 1 keeper and i had nothing. All in all a learning experience. But definitely had alot of fun!

Rough week for sure man, but all part of the learning experience. I know I'm like you in the case of cold water fishing just because I don't fish it all that often. Even during the peak of winter my home lake in Alabama barely gets into the low 50's and occasionally the 40's. Fished a tournament in February where it was snowing with 20+ mph winds and came in 13th out of 87 boats fishing texas rigged lizards and deep diving crank baits.

  • @bicyclethief

Maybe you should try ffishing in one of those lakes in the north repartition of the bass in Ontario or eather Quebec. You may catch snow in october!!!

Best way to catch them in cold weather is find them on your Lowrance then you can throw a drop shot 2 to 3 inch minnow and you can watch the fish come up on your Lowrance and eat the lure, or fish a Float n Fly, or fish a silver buddy. around Dandridge bridges is good Schwans, and around the Dam. This lake in the summer can produce 50 fish a night with a 4 to 6 inch worm, great night fishing on this lake. Hope this help you out the next time you go to Douglas Lake.

Well, at 5:56, I can tell why you had a hard time. The thing seems to be a reservoir. If you don't know the specific spots for these, they generally are a waste of time. We got one in Quebec, Lac Taureau, and it's pretty shitty unless you know exactly where to go.
