I don't really see many useful tones. Only both pickups either in active or passive sound good to me. Edit: yesterday I tried it in shop and it is an absolutely fantastic instrument with a well defined 5th. The sound of the video doesn't make justice at all to the bass.

Martí Sanmartí that's usually the case dude. Always try before you buy. Even with all the technology and Internet at our immediate diposal, Online videos and most recordings for that matter don't really capture the essence of the guitars and basses. It's a good staring point for me. My .02.

They're designed to offer a different tone. The Elites tend to be a little clearer, and smoother. The Deluxe have a slightly scooped sound to them. Boosted highs and boosted lows. I haven't noticed a difference in the noise yet.

I have exactly this guitar and it doesnt sound as good as here, don't know why

My MIM Fender jazz 5-string (modified) sounds better. But then it has Nordstrand singles and Noll 2-band @ 18v. And let's face it: tone is completely subjective. This new design Fender jazz bass sounds good enough to stand on its own merits, and I like the tweaks that Fender has done to this classic. As long as I can stay in the pocket..........

Not bad on pro monitors. They are demoing the tones and at times may sound harsh.
