One of my favorite characters I ever ran was a wild magic sorcerer gnome named "upendown Dibbler" who rolled WAY better than he should have. Once killed an entire goblin camp with a single twinned spell chaos bolt, only then for him to go back to town and flirt with the quest giver. Also, subtle spell prestidigitation is a 10/10 prank, highly recommend.

Gnome is definitely my favorite race in DnD as well. They also pair wonderfully with the druid class, especially since very few people expect the happy go lucky little fellow to turn into a raging bear and maul them across the room if they hurt his friends. The group called him "Mossbeard" since he had a very long name and kept inventing new titles and then tacking them onto his first name(s) every time he did something he considered cool, which was pretty much everything.

I had a BA Warlock(a bit against gnome type, i just seen that he was more into magic than mechanics) along with a DeathKnight, and a Rouge. I only was able to RolePlay(in a D&D campaign) once. I had a great time, was some type of new class that had just came out(this would have been (94-95) A "time thief" he had a few time spells that would stop time for 5secs or something silly. A classic party split, and I became a murder hobo for the rest of the evening. Great video, can't wait to check out the rest!

I've recently made some very different Rock gnomes. They live in a type of cast society, the city is kind of like those attack on Titan City rings. And going further in you go up a class. The further out you go the less technology you have, certain materials are straight up banned depending which level you are. And lower classes are never taught of what's in the higher classes, they can never go past the wall. Regardless of this, each class has still found ways to make technology with what they have available, making some pretty impressive stuff. The source of this strange society is that the leader is in contact with a corruptible artifact, and this artifact has been passed down generations after generations. The neighbors of the society are able to freely see all of the classes, and want to change this society.

I agree with gnomes being the most chaotic neutral in D&D and all, but would not say that they are particularly scrawny or weak. I have had two gnome characters in games that I have run and both of them have done incredible feats of strength. The first (a deep gnome war magic wizard... WIZARD) was the most chaotic thing alive. That guy crawled out of a bag of devouring, tricked an NPC into climbing into said bag of devouring, sold a magical shield to another magic shield for literally all of his gold, survived an encounter with a dracolich somehow, freed some slaves, and then got blackout drunk when they reached the nearest town. The second gnome (who was a nonspecific gnome who worked as the security for a tavern) lifted several people above his head and then threw them to devastating results. Will have to tell these stories sometime on my channel. Maybe sometime in December? I don't know. Great video though Runesmith!

They also are great monster bait. Good for setting off traps when tied to a 10 foot pole, can be used as a basketball, and serve as emergency rations for when you're feeling rather peckish.

Gnomes weirdly seem like they would make the perfect crime boss. You described there view of the future as more ideas about there own ambitions rather than a solid amount of time, meaning they could be very patient in executing a plan. Couple that with a half centuries life span and a decent intelligence score and you have a 1 1/2 mafia boss

I made a gnome wizard that I only got to play a short while because the campaign got derailed hard as we headed in the complete opposite direction of the main plot. I made him batshit insane, and it was funny when one of friends tried to flirt with the gnome like he with did my previous character (which I retired).

3 out of 4 of my PCs were gnomes. A gnome cleric of Pelor (1.5 session), a gnome wizard (from 1 session that didn't turn into a campaign because of COVID-19) and Gabar Zinks the Boring. Gnomish warlock of Great Old One that lacks in gnomish sense of humor, but slightly awakened it because of getting annoyed by edgy rogue. His patron is his best friend, partially because both don't feel that well among their own kin. Other part is that both love science.

I have a gnome wizard ...He likes walls. He likes walls a LOT. Walls of stone, walls of fire, walls of force, walls of air, _prismatic_ walls- if it can be shaped into a rectangular prism, you bet your bottom that Gimbleboddynockarethgarenton is gonna make a wall out of it, just you wait! ...I really love 'when your only tool is a hammer-' characters... because when the problem _isn't_ a nail, it can make for some great comedy... and then when the problem *IS* finally a nail, you get to finally crack your knuckles and announce to the party that you've got this

Seeing how much you love them, I'd suggest you can get your hands on a book called _Gnomes_ by Wil Huygen and illustrated by Rien Poortvliet, originally in Dutch. It has gorgeous illustrations and is basically an encyclopedia on Gnomes. Not D&D Gnomes, but there's clearly inspiration, such as with the inventions.
