Correction: Swords & Wizardry has monster reactions in the body text on page 27 of the Core Rules and page 36 of the Complete Rules. Sorry I missed it. Love both Swords & Wizardry and Basic Fantasy. Awesome games!

I like that moral mechanic a lot. With the reaction-table it seems great for simulate social situations, not just morale during battle.

A 1hp wizard. Back in the day it would never have occurred to me to just start with max hps. I want to say my dm recommended it and even then I felt so grateful. Work up 2500 xp just to roll a second one and Have a 2nd level wizard with 2hps. At that point you have to think you might be better off just starting a new character at level 1. After all, you might roll a 3. Or 4 which is almost worth losing the second spell especially if your spells were not so good. Good job keeping that guy alive.

This was great because I haven't seen any solo battles in this kind of detail. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing how your party does throughout your campaign.

Good little session! It got really dicey for them during that fight! I'm glad they got through it.

After watching a lot of your channel over the last 1.5 yrs, and missed watching this whole video, sir. It's great! Your perspectives are really great for old school gaming. Really do miss you doing these BFRPG vids!! Any plans to head back here? 👍

Hi Ray. Short answer: Yes. I love BFRPG so to do some more stuff would be great. I'm planning another Runecairn video using the Delve Generator, but I'm really fond of BFRPG and Labyrinth Lord so I'd love to do some more stuff with them. As for my group games, I'm currently lost in Troika so it's Fighting Fantasy-style far-future science fantasy all the way! I'd also like to do some stuff with Judge Dredd RPG and Golden Heroes (both from the mid-1980s) but we'll see what time and my brain capacity will allow 😃

Could you explain a little more on how you use the fudge/fate dice into the game? Thanks, nice vid btw.

Hi, thanks for your comment. It's simply that the more plusses = the more positive the outcome and the more minuses = the more negative. Which can lead to some evens results of course. I don't use them how they're used in Fate. I just use them as a simple little oracle.

Thanks for your comment ☺ They are from the Games Workshop Halls of Horror floorplan set from 1986. The previous owner mounted them on board.

How to play a pre written adventure solo? I wonder how to go about it.

I try that with kzread.info/dash/bejne/gIaOzZqqfqWxd9Y.html but I need to do a more dedicated video on that as it can be quite a challenge. Tom Scutt's DM Yourself book has some very good ideas (but the font size is a bit small!).
