Rev, I 100% agree we need better officer sourcing for many of the officers introduced this last couple of years. HG Worf is available in Ultra Recruit chest and I at least get good pulls of him. In fact got a full pulled him this week. But overall I agree with you. Thanks for the video.

With watching youtvideos, finally getting more officers and researching, I'm finally kicking a little butt. I've been playing a year now and I've made it to level 39. You hit the nail on the head. The game is not fair. Loot and officer shards suck. I made this up, but it's like a payout. You turn in 8k loot in return you get 125? Same goes for mining refining. It sucks for what you turn in you get crap back. No I refuse to pull out my credit card and support Scopely. If things don't start changing, I'm hanging up my phaser and walking away. This is supposed to be a game. It's turned into a second job. To keep up you have to work 7 days a week - sometimes more than 1 time a day logging in. A lot of us are getting fed up. Work your magic Rev!

Rev, another good video. Thank you for sharing all this info. I am usually one of a few players in my alliance that constantly shares these tips. This morning was a discussion around transporter patterns. I followed your advice and have been collecting them for a while. Just wanted to say thanks and to let you know how much of a positive impact you have on the game.

Scopely needs to improve the Amalgam refinery... The officers have been discussed a lot. Ship tracker shards.... By the time you get enough of the tracker shards for a G3 epic ship, that ship will be basically useless as you will be in at least a G4 rare ship by then.

Hey Deuce! This is the only way I know to reach you.. On my server we run in to asshats from time to time and we end up marking an entire allaice as enemy just to force admirals to deal with their asshats. The problem is, some of those asshats are the admirals! So we end up tagging an entire alliance enemy when its really just the one! So I would like you to suggest to scopely that that give an alliance the option to mark an individual player as an enemy as well. That way we don't end up punishing entire alliances over one asshat!! Three times I saved up for max refine in the Amalgam store (takes forever) everytime minimum shards for Worf. From min refine lucky if I've got more than two.

Suggestion? Would Amalgam sourcing be better if you could make the pull daily instead of every three days?

Rev please review the new Borg solo armada credits ect.

Allow buying of officer badges using faction credits too (as well as increase sourcing rate of officers) as that is becoming my bottleneck, that and ind credits!

The khan crew does great on an empty base but I have always noticed that they were poo when trying to kill the docked ships

#RevDeuce. At level 47 with a Newton Battleship Rom as Captain makes an excellent Base cracking Captain, l use HGWORF and Gorkon as well to maximise damage. I do not have Pillum but this is also an excellent ship for base cracking. To get the best out of Rom Newton and Pillum have 6 and 7 shots the 1st round which is boosted to 9 with rank 2 Rom on my Newton and Rom’s Captain ability enables me to inflict lots of damage in the 1st round without receiving any damage myself. HGWORFand Gorkon gives me critical hits and hullbreach.

Question about starbases, do the EPS Distribution, Shield Modulator and Exographic targeting benefit all alliance members ships or just the starbase?

On what ship? Looking for an Augur crew.

Unless you are a whale or a bug dolphin , drop Harrison and go Rom HGW and Gorkon. Rom delays +1 shot, hgw gives an almost guarenteed first volley crit especially if you have 3+ shots, and gorkon will have a 99% chance of getting hull breach round 1. And he works off that first volley almost every time which means the second/third volley will be hull breaches. Much better than lorca imo because if lorca doesn't proc turn 1, you have to wait to turn 2. In the long run, Gorkon is better than lorca because you only lose 1 volley of hull breaches vs an entire round or 2.

Yeah, right Rev. I have a lot of officers just on Lvl 5. Introducing new officers is much faster set up by Scopely, than the amount of chances raising them up. 😖 It depends on the very small amount and possibility getting independent credits as well. Too much officers need a riddicoulos (according to the daily refinery) high of independent credits. For example: Grush promoting to T5 for 22,5k of independent cradits? Alone Grush?!? Yeah, laughin' ......

Sourcing is something that Scopely has to improve. I'm fine with them adding new officers every month since that is how Scopely makes their money, but they have to add in real sourcing for older officers released in previous months. Stop diluting the existing officer pools. Create a second ultra recruit token (stop with the currencies for the love of all things good and holy (Yes yes, I know and understand why they do it but still)) that takes the ultra recruit tokens we have now. This new pool could hold the officers for 2023. That would be 36 officers, assuming 3 per month. And we would still have to decide where we use our ultra recruit tokens. Either pool A (which is super bloated but has officers people still probably want), or pool B. This would also make it a bit easier for people to know where to look when trying to find out where to source an officer. Also, and I get they want to make their money but, the time scales they are setting out are insane. While I wish STFC a long life span, having things take 3-5 years to complete is madness. Should be 12-18 months max as a F2P. Because the 80/20 principle of economics states that Scopely is making 80% of their money from the 20% of the population that are whales. The whales will buy and they buy at the initial roll of something. Ergo, having these long run times to completion in hopes of getting more money doesn't really work since most of the money was made in the launch window. I'm sure there are people who do buy things outside of the launch month, but again, the bulk of the money is made in that first month.

So is that basic kirk, not TOS kirk? I have Rom and Weyon, I almost has TOS unlocked, If not basic kirk, should I switch in HG worf? or go with Lorca

my question is, what are good independent crews to use? Rom, HG Worf, Harrison already setup. so what do i use on other ships that do not included one of those 3?

Ok a little background here, im a OLD guy currently at lvl 30 (base is almost completely upgraded to 30 will finish everything in perhaps 2-3 more days) BUT my ships suck and my crew suck really hard, I will look at this video for a 4th time after a coffee and I still have no idea what crew to put in my sucky ships D3@850k and Bortas@800k I am COMPLETELY ftp which makes this game a complete nightmare to progress in. There have been occasions when like recently I spent all my ketracel on premium officer chests I think I got about 40 chests pulled.....and got total chit from them perhaps a total of 6-7 magenta shards perhaps as many as 10 blue shards but all the rest were normal officer shards frankly for officers I see no benefit for spending the officer xp and upgrading I am currently sat with some 35 officers I can upgrade but have no reason to do so because the dont seem to be of any benefit to me in my ships, perhaps they may help in away teams but in my ships I have a few that are better and are as upgraded as I can make them I am open ot any advice willing to give anyone more information on my chit so they can help me but right now I am going to have a coffee and beat my head on my desk while the game goes through maintenance have fun folks see you (well some of you probably) out there....chaaarge

Lol truth I remember you had to have a Salidan to Crack bases. I never sourced ships right though to get one.

I burn through all my officer recruiting every time there is an event. There are way too many officers that the RNG keeps awarding me shards to that I burn through 300-500K Transporter patterns each arc. Still have officers I still can’t source. 🤬

Great Video but something important to consider Harrison is 💩 on most ships. He works great on Pilum and Sally because they fire everything in round 1 but the Augur or ent fire their big Gun in round 2. So on most ships Lorca or Gorkon are better then Harrison. Rather more Damage with the Big weapon in Round 2 from Hullbreach then Shield Bypass in Round 2 for small Weapons

I haven't got to the point in the game where I need to raid yet. Because of the uncommon and rare materials bottleneck I always have heaps of the base materials that I can't spend. I'm currently Ops 45. When do players really need to start raiding?

I'm ops 25 and i raid bases from time to time (about 10 stations around my level each month) : tritanium is a bottleneck for us when we want to upgrade ships ... i don't know how it's later at higher levels. We can wait months to receive the needed tritanium by events or we raid bases to upgrade the ships faster.

@@arcaderetr0gamer I suppose there are a lot more ships in the 20's now than when I was there but the only ships you really need in the 20's are the Vidar, Disco, Franklin and miners. The events in the 40's are pretty generous with the base resources and when each upgrade you need to save up thousands of uncommon and rare materials you build up a huge surplus of the base resources.

What if you are not Federation faction? Most of Rev's videos assume everyone is Federation, if not you won't have Kirk. Romulan / Klingons need to raid as well... Rom / Gorkon / Chang? Or Rom / Nero / Vemet?

Chang basically has no use, ever. Burning crew is a long fight mechanic, not a short one. Also MOST players in the game (a vast majority) have gone federation through dual grinding. I'm one of the few that isn't fed aligned lol

I found pretty good success with the Augments. The ability of Khan is great on a base raid.

12:32 - I M P O R T A N T because of the Extremly High Piercing Values of Defense Plattforms the Defense Mitigation of your ship is extremly low below 20% ... most likly around 16% even a max Synergy 5of11 with 1000% will - in most cases !! - not help you and give you more than +5% if you want to do it anyway - invest at least 50.000 Officers stats in that 1000% with higher OPS Level you have to bump that up to 100.000

I agree, the worse it gets the more I contemplate not spending money anymore. The amalgam, the stella and most of the ships required years and a lot of people do not want to deal with it

Why are the Crews from the shows Discovery and Enterprise not featured in the game? Edit: I meant Voyager not Discover. I amended instead of edited so comments below made sense.

I take it you're new to the game? When stfc started in 2019 they did not have access to the rights of the TV franchises. That changed 2 years ago with the deal between Paramount, Viacom and Scopely. We have already covered the original series, discovery, Next Generation, lower decks, Strange New World and we just finished DS9.

Ok so I typed Discovery and I actually meant Voyager. I'm not asking about the ships I'm asking about the Crews. I'm not new to the game I've been playing for a while I've just never asked the question nor have I seen anyone else ask it. I know what is in the game already, I'm asking about what ISN'T in the game. I'm not asking Paramount I'm asking here. I think that should cover all of the responses so far. So Voyager and Enterprise series characters.

@@RevDeuce because TOS Kirk didn't trigger you lost the fight Your big gun would have fired even more shots Moral round 1 = 76% + 50% Rom Moral round 2 = 152% + 50% Rom Instead of 7 shots your big gun would have 9 shots Triggering Moral on a uneven round on the Valdore is important because of the firing pattern Because you get more shots when the least amount of weapons fire

Hey Rev, i know you have ears you can whisper in. If you could forward this million dollar idea up to scopely, yes the amalgam has helped a little for raiding, but it still takes many hours to drain a base not to mention how boring it is as you can not do other things like dailies while raiding. So my solution to this is something i think the players will have no problem forking money over for. A new prime that makes a syphon for your miner. this prime would be one of those upgradable primes. u place your miner and it attaches a syphon from their base to yours and at lvl 1 it would transfer rss at about 50% what you can do manually. your miner would still be vulnerable to attack but this would free up the players to other things. then people could spend more on upgrading the prime to upgrade the %.

I won't raid. I'm not a thief, on or off the game. We all work hard and spend real time on this game. A thief is still a thief...
