Wonderful.
Amazing ..!! 🏆🚂
Thanks for the comment…the racks are lightly secured with a small wire through the frame (bar) and the rack at one end…I found a little slack was useful but a drop of glue might be OK too…RC
Absolutely fantastic work ! I plan to build such a bridge in n scale. I had no idea where to place the motor. Thank you so much for that great idea and the whole construction. Now it's gonna be a lot easier for me. I have one question, did you fix the tooth rack, or is it just laying upside the bar ? I am very impressed, thanks a lot !👍👍
As an aside: in 1921 H. Abt was awarded a patent (1394519) for a bascule bridge.
Fantastic work, I always wondered if someone had or ever would make a model of this bridge, I'm amazed you we're not only able to make an accurate model but a working once since there doesn't appear to be much space to work with.

Thanks SMT, it required solving a few key problems. Also, I must have built 25 different jigs to transform a sheet of styrene into the various shapes. I hope to do another KZread video by September 2019 to show more refinements and having traffic across the bridge.

@@richardcarnegie777 I will be excited to see that someday. I'm thinking of building a famous fixture of Smiths falls my self, I'm planning on building an ho scale replica of the hershey's factory (with rail line access) I don't have room to build the whole thing but it should still be fun.
