I listened to this amazing music a few years ago. Now, I finally found it. I think that no “Romanian folks dance” is better than this movie.

Wow. I’ve never heard a recording of this where someone actually did all those grace notes in the 6th movement so clearly. The entire thing was very clean and nicely in tune. Amazing! Best recording I’ve heard

Im playing this song right now and i love it. Janine Jansen is amazing!!!! this is one of the best versions of this piece that i could find. great interpretation and emotion. this was truly what bartok had in mind when he wrote it. and everyone who is saying that she is moving too much is dead wrong. Music is supposed to be played with emotion and the artist should enjoy the music which she obviously is doing. bartok should be played with emotion. this was beautiful. my favorites are 2,3, and 4.

ah typical Janine, playing so beautifully and as soon as the fast mvts. come in she just goes for it and slams it, not afraid of breaking some bow hairs. I absolutely love her playing so much and her immense passion. I have to admit I play a majority of my pieces with her as inspiration. A world class violinist and performer. Bravo Mrs. Jansen :)

The movement and expression make her performance ten times more alive. Yes, it's about the music. But in the end, you go to a live performance for the personality as well as the sound. You don't close your eyes and listen at a rock concert, why would this be any different? She's done a beautiful job here, so much variation in tone.

His mother (Paula Voit) was German-origin, his grandmother (Katalin Boskovic) was Serb-origin, his grandfather was Hungarian-origin. He was born in Sannicolau Mare (former Nagyszentmiklós, Austria-Hungary, now Romania). And? I think it didn't the most important. He was a great worldfamous composer - that the important! We should be happy over what he gave to the world, Romanian and Hungarian cultures, not arguing over his nationality, and hurt other nations with it.

Hey people Bartok was born in Banat, which was in those times in Hungary, but with many romanians and other peoples. Bartok appreciated multiculturalism and he appreciated the music of many peoples. Let's learn from his openess and stop argueing in nationalistic debates! an admirer of both Romanian and Hungarian culture
