And it actually isn't too far off from a power some Speedsters in the comic can do, we've seen Speedsters create constructs out of the force in the comics before and I like how the CW is using his lightning powers as somthing like constructs that speedsters can make giving a nod to that very obscure ability from the comics even if it's unintentional

He had to constantly reapply speed force energy, unlike a Lantern who could just think of an object and it would stay unless he commanded it to disappear. Barry in this show already surpasses Comic Barry, and is trailing behind Comic Wally.

Okay, this was awesome! My biggest concern with this franchise was the fact that Barry was never confident in his abilities, even to the point that he would question his own powers and what he was capable of doing. But this moment right here shows how far Barry has come as a character. He has grown to not only trust in his own abilities, but to rely solely on instinct. He knew he could ride the lightning, he just needed to get a second opinion from Chester. And the execution was brilliant. I was afraid this show wasn’t going anywhere, but this one episode really shook my understanding of how this show could still surprise me. Well done CW.

The cgi in this show is just too good. I dont know how they aren’t getting awards for this

Never heard Queen sound like that. I didn't know it was Metallica but know the 80's metal sound (At first I thought Iron Maiden or Megadeth). It's not a song I recognized as a Metallica song as it's underplayed.

This show is capable of showing how Barry can do the “impossible” with his speed, only to nerf him a few episodes later and make him not fast enough to do even the most simplest things, like catching a bullet.

They didn't nerf Barry the entire season tho. If you watched S8, you would know. S8 is by far the best season where Barry's powers are consistent and he is actually competent. S1 or whatever are nice storywise but are not consistent with Barry's powers. Madvacate proved this in his video about Flash S1-S3. So, S8 is Barry at his best.

Okay, that was awesome, seeing Barry come up with that idea to ride his lightning, and then playing the song!

I like how it's showing us how fast Barry is as he is chasing deathstorm throughout Central city. Thank You Camera Man :)

The way he jumps and runs reminds me of ZSJL. When Barry runs back in time. It also gives me DC Universe Online vibes. Where you can unlock a double jump that gives you a lightning effect on your feet.

@@alexosborne1613 i was explaining the jargon used by the characters Im not a scientist or writer, so i cant explain why the bolts didnt continue travelling, best guess is just like other characters before him (and Barry has shown he's able to do it too) have been able to control where lightning goes and how far Remember Noras lightning lasso, the shooting stars of Bart, the lotus flower construct Wally made Its all the same principle, harnessing lightning turning it solid using the photons The only difference is how far the user wants the lightning to go

God damn barry leveling up is like God level powers literally goosebumps... This is wat the show should offer and and giv the people wat they want moments like this is jst golden.

I will say the boots make him look more like the flash so even though this scene was alittle off I love seeing The Flash in live action Grant is a great actor and I wish they just do a flash movie with him. Make him funnier and less brutish with a tad of curiosity and seriousness? Sky is the limit for him as Flash.

TBH the use of Ride the Lightning is perfect. I know that people wanted to OG music, but them using it sparingly before that beautiful final scene in the Final episode... I get why they did it, and I think it was a great creative choice, whether by the writing team or Blake Neely.

I stopped watching this show awhile ago. It’s moments like these I wished they kept up on bc it’s always a treat to see Barry really develop his powers and see it branch out in other ways. I really hope they find a way to end the series on a high note when the time comes. Grant has always been the flash to me and it would suck if they didn’t give his acting a serviceable script. Seasons 1 and 2 are goated.

perfect example of why writers need to explain how barry gains new powers. remember when they had a lightsaber fight? yeah people hated it because barry straight up pulled it out of his ass. they actually used barry’s boots to do something instead of showing it doing a cool thing in armageddon then never mentioning it again. good job writers. yeah it looks kinda stupid and unnecessary but its fun and a change of pace from the same fights everytime a new villain shows up. and im so happy that they are finally making this show about barry and he is actually doing things on his own. he doesnt need pep talks to pull a really fast speed feat or new powers. although i would like to see more flashtime because the effect is cool and better shows how fast barry has become. its kinda hard to see how fast he. and barry does some funny things in flashtime so that too.

He was able to throw lightening always all he needed to know if his special boots could allow him to land on it probably he tried something like this before but failed because he didn't have those special boots. Also the lighting sword was just thunder with barrry continuously keeping it intact by vibratiing his body, he is lot experienced now he just needs to see how a speedsters does something and can imitate it.

@@pthespidey5057 he may be experienced in it, but it is something that seems like it would be tough to do, and he just randomly starts doing it. Imagine if when Barry first began throwing lightning that he got it perfect from the get go, people would have been really annoyed, but they didn't, Barry failed a fair few times before he actually got it down, that's what they failed to do, even just one time if they'd shown him accidentally make one earlier in the season, then try figure our what it is, then it would have at least felt more natural, but it was just odd

I wish they would have explained the lightsaber lightning with Wally teaching Barry how to form stuff with lightning, at least it would have made a little sense then

It's nice to see the flash smart for a change rather than him giving up mid way.

Another thing I like about this scene is that you can tell Barry goes faster at 0:31. His lightning trail gets longer, like the lightning has less time to dissipate

Sisco would've lost his goddamn mind over this. Barry's done a lot of stuff. But this was so simple yet so damn cool.

Effects here are actually good

Barry Allen is still the coolest and best of the Flash's (my opinion only folks.). This show has been a real treat for us comic book collectors. It has become my favorite of the modern day super hero shows. It has been fun, exciting and impressive the imagination and acting of the actors. They may look different than they do their comic book interpretations but they are embody the characters supremely. An outstanding show it has been!

Awesome song to pick for this scene right here. Right? When I heard the guitar riffs start for ride lightning, that's the perfect song you should play for the flash

Nothing will ever top season 2 and 3 but my god has season 8 been amazing

@@theyokester3541 I think it’s already better then season 3 and 4. It’s fun and infesting and actually good. No real plot holes like with season 3. We had our speedster and alien threat the first 5 episodes now we get death storm. Now I think the rest of the season and season 9 will decide on if we get a season 10 which I hope we do

I thought season 1 was good too. I also liked some aspects of season 4, such as introducing Ralph w/his unique powers, and how all of the bus metas powers culminated into a layering of weapon(s), but the Thinker was a drawn villain!

@@jonathanhill3668 I respect your opinion but I don't think it's better than the first 3 seasons honestly, not yet at least. Too much stuff about characters like allegra and chester and stakes weren't too high. This ep was good tho.

This will go down as one of the best scenes in the entire show. Amazing work from those behind the show
