This was really lovely, well done Chris - beautifully filmed and narrated. I have to admit to being a little sceptical at first, when I saw the announcement of new Alvis cars. There've been so many failed attempts to reboot marques like Bristol and Jensen, and they usually end in a confused retro mess. I knew there was some continuation with the original Alvis claimed in this case, but hadn't really appreciated how much it genuinely is just the old company that's been kept running all this time. I wish them every success and, should my lottery numbers ever come up, I'll be right on the blower for a new Graber coupe.
What a beautifully made film, and a brilliantly told story. Love it.
Absolutely brilliant Chris, thank you. It’s such a shame that the way KZread works rewards channels which produce videos frequently over those who can’t do that but put work into production quality. You should have many more subscribers than you do.
Fascinating company that I didn't know enough about - really enjoyed this, stunning shots and some great storytelling. Thanks!
Well done Chris and the C&C team. Great story of a great company, beautifully filmed and with a great soundtrack. Keep up your excellent and informative uploads.
Utterly fabulous. Well done Chris and team for making this brilliant film.
What a great video. Everything from the way it was filmed to the way is was presented. I know very little of Alvis. I had no idea that the company had not only survived, but are continuing the production of such beautiful cars, using 100% original parts and with the same craftsmanship. An incredible achievment really. Long may it continue 👍
Good production Chris..keep it up..good friend of ours in the early 1960s bought an Alvis Speed 20 in Edinburgh for 50quid..seized engine..shipped it to Australia and restored it in Sydney. When i was 11 in 1978..Brian packed it full of kids and took us for a day out..such an awesum car..
Excellent film. I am really proud of the fact that Red Triangle and Alvis exist in the town where I live - Kenilworth. They don't shout about their work, they just get on and do it. The fact that the parts, service records and drawings were moved from Coventry to Kenilworth in 1968 and they are still in the same building today is almost a miracle !
I didn't know Alvis was still in existence, always liked the look of them on the few occasions I have seen one on the roads good luck to the company for the future.
Good to see a British company still going and producing cars today, very well filmed well done Chris
In the 60s my father had a 1951 Alvis TC21, reg no JGD411. The car of my childhood, and it was unfashionable by then, but we didn't care. My mother drove it to her job as a teacher and the kids would sing "Bonnie and Clyde" as she rolled up. It wasn't very reliable, and many of my memories of it were stranded at the side of a rainy and windswept A1 near Wetherby, awaiting a tow. Still, when it was going it was smooth and fast. The car was eventually privately sold for the princely sum of £10, in 1971. It was taxed in 2010, but nothing after that. I'm assuming Alvis enthusiasts will view this video, so if anyone knows the car, and can bring me up to date, I'd be overjoyed! Great video, by the way.
Great short film .I worked for Alvis from 1981 to 1998 At Holyhead road Coventry starting. As apprentice and leaving company as gearbox team leader great place to work with a great heritage. At the time i was there it was all about tanks and it’s derivative’s.
True passion shown through the creation of this film Chris - thank you
Absolutely wonderful Chris. Nice filming too. Lovely background music to set the mood. So wonderful to see British craftsmanship in the automotive world. Okay, so there are some concessions to modernity, but not to the absurd levels of mundane machinery. It's useful technology and very discreet. Which is reflective of traditional culture.
Professional and passionate storytelling Chris. Wonderful viewing. What a company history too.
Brilliant Video Chris. If only I won the lottery, what a dilemma restore or new build. Despite the TF21 being a 1960’s car, what a great looking car. British craftsmanship at its very very best. Good luck to Alvin’s & red triangle moving forward
Great video.. I am from Coventry originally.. I lived Off the Holyhead road And more strangely My mum was actually An Employee at Alvis In the offices not sure the years she worked there but wild guess 1960 -mid 1963.. Along my life journey I have even driven an Alvis TD 1964 What a stunning beautiful car It was dark blue . I remember getting the chance to drive it up to a garage in Hove for tyre or exhaust part.. It was a fab experience Seeing this video I wondered if one of the dark blue coupes was the one I had time with .. Keep up the good work..
Loved this video. Great insight into a once great (and still great) company. Didn’t realise these were so completely built in house even the engines, these are truly built as if production had just “paused”. Bravo!
Bloody Amazing 40 plus yr mechanic and ADDICTED THANKZZ :-) wow wow wow
Thanks for that.... was amazing looking at all stages " past, present and future if only suite followed (gm, rolls etc such a shame) big thank you and respect👍👍
Ace film. Great job. Fab looking cars too.
it,s nice to see, skill and class has not died.
Magnificent viewing, and really quite emotive. Thank you, and the best of luck to Alvis ...
Great video, Chris. I learned a lot from watching it. Until today, I thought Alvis was a dead brand so it is good to see it still going. I like the pace and tone of the video and the music was well chosen. Thank you.
What an absolutely brilliant video
Amazing video, kudos to you and the entire support team involved in the creation & production of this stunning & detailed look back - and forwards as well - of the Alvis Car Company and its rich & continuing history of being a surviving British-owned manufacturer for so many decades - albeit with an inordinately long 'tea break' in between the 'then' and the 'now'. Well done as well to the Red Triangle owners, management & craftsmen for keeping this dream of 'days gone by' alive for future generations to admire & appreciate the labour of love & hand-crafted precision that goes into constructing these beautiful classic cars.
A fantastic video Chris, a lifelong Alvis demanding former owner. A true British icon that will never be forgotten. Would love to look in their "barn". There are still models turning up in barns now, which they could use,I didn't realise that they are keeping a stock in of them, keep upmthe good work.
Isn't it so good to see the skills of coach building still going we had a customer with one 40 years ago think it was a late 50s early 60s model worked on it a couple of times
Wow, how amazing was watching that. I remember these cars driving around London in the early 60's. Always loved them. The name Alvis was 'Al' from aluminium and 'Vis' strength (latin). That what my father told me, he always wanted one. It would have suited him in his deerstalker hat lol. Great presentation.
Great video!! Thanks 🥰
Lived in Kenilworth for years Drove past it loads of times Will call in when next back
What a great success story and marvellous cars thank you for the video and information. Bravo 👏👏😊
Great well presented video. Really enjoyed this coverage of such a famous British marque.

Interesting about Alvis Car and Engineering Company: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZGeYubSgg8rdmqQ.html
Amazing works of art.
Truly insane prices for one of these cars........ but worth every single penny of it if you ask me!
Great content, thank you for posting.
Had a tour of the factory in the early 60s when an apprentice arranged by Coventry Tec.
Great news good the see Alvis making a come back always loved them proper car wish I could afford one Thanks for video
Fantastic!
what great video so interesting
2:19 is my favourite 😏
I didn't know Alvis cars (Red Triangle) were still going strong, thanks for the video.
Truly amazing
Beautiful!
Wonderful!
Fantastic 👍👍👍
19:18 Is that a Hurst shifter?.. attached to a 6 speed 'box. I'd love one of these cars.

Yes , it's a modified Hurst shifter , mated to a tremec gearbox
Great video. Too bad there aren't more companies like this that you can do similar videos for. Or maybe there are. Look around. Great video. (Glad I hung on after subscribing so long ago.)
It really is fascinating how much of the original company has been preserved, I guess that's one of the benefits of not becoming part of British Leyland. I can't help but wonder what they would come up with if they were to make a fully modern interpretation of the old Alvis formula. Something akin to a morgan aero, albeit less cross-eyed, perhaps?
Great story I had not been aware of. How much do they cost as a continuation car??
@callamroberts

Start from £325k

Talk about " time warp"classic cars let's hope that this continues silently ticking over building thease historic British built cars all while the outside world goes mad!
The big question is how much?
With the modern 'catch-all' construction and use regulations, these 'continuation' Alvises have to have seat-belts and all the other modern rubbish which come with new cars these days. If I ever had the wherewithal to own an Alvis, preferably a pre-war car, I would want originality above all. As far as emissions are concerned, the number of genuine original Alvises around make no significant contribution to global warming and to my mind it is utter sacrilege to fit seat belts in what amounts to a PVT or Vintage Alvis. Road safety starts with the driver and seat belts give too many drivers of modern cars a false sense of security.
BUT.....is it a proper continuation car?😅🤣😂
please kill the music
Disliked for the totally unnecessary and intrusive soundtrack. Otherwise good.
