You do realise the price of this kind of work ? Its easy when you have the money.

I'm proud to have serviced these cars when they were new, before 60 years of wear and neglect took place. Even adjusting the 300SL idle mixture by changing the tiny air jet as shown here. I still have those jets in my tool box 😂👍🇺🇲 it was a great career. Greenwich, Connecticut.🇺🇲

Thank You for having brought tears to my eyes, but enlightened me up to my soul. My Father owned a 190SL and a 230SL. My Mother,who passed this year, owned a 230SL and a 280 SL. She refused the special offer Stuttgart prepared for her for a 350SL, she thought to not emough respect the original 'Classicist' design that emblazoned the stylishness and uniqueness Mercedes Benz established within a market where only them and Sir William Lyons, remained innovators, but also vestals, from all other makers who edged down from the guiding principles of quality. My absolute wish is to be destined to own either a 230, 250 or 280Sl, for the remainder of my life. Only my astuteness, my fervor and my fate will be essential to accomplish that. My viewing of this marvelous documentary, for which I thank you from the bottom heart, happened on the evening of my 68th birthday, which year, if my memory serves me well, coincides with 1968 is in my heart a wonderful coincidence, with my Mother signing a purchase order for a 280 SL. Thank You!

Watching the restorations at Barbus raises the hair on my arms in joy and brings a big smile to my face - absolute ‘PERFECTION’ at its BEST! Thank you - and God bless to ALL of you at Barbus for caring so much in restoring our Mercedes Benz’. I now look at my ‘91 500 SL in a more appreciative different light…

It's illegal to change the odometer. Them installing a brand new engine but using the old block to keep the serial number is fraud.

Just amazing work and attitude, the quality of Mercedes Benz products of the past were a reflection of the attitude and mindset of engineers of that era.Never to be repeated

This is just fantastic. An ultra high-end restoration on a beautiful vehicle. I could watch this all day.

The expertise and attention to detail is awe inspiring. To bring these beautiful cars back to and perhaps beyond their former glory is an amazing achievement. Fascinating documentary, well done!

Damn, I thought Brabus only did modern tunes/builds?! I had no idea they did a restoration service. Absolutely beautiful work. I know where I’m going when I win the lottery. One new one, and one older restoration!

I'm from Bottrop and always loved Brabus cars. When I moved to Australia in 2009 I put my Mercedes in my mother's garage where it has been sitting ever since. It's not an SL but one day I should ask Brabus to pick it up, restore it and send it to me :)

300SL a dream car for every grown ass man

I would work at that restoration factory for just room and board. Pure art! The closer to perfection the closer to God.

i'm American, but i must be a German at heart, because doing these restos i just exactly what my brain finds satisfying.

Back in the 80’s I worked for a Porsche dealer in Raleigh North Carolina. We got a 911 in that had been owned by Dallas actress Victoria Principal. Very nice and rare car. Celebrities buy cars for appearances all the time.

Amazing, in more ways than one. I recall going through the ads of the National Geographic at the time. They hardly had a lot of ads, but the understated Mercedes would always feature the two door SL on a single page.

Thank you for bringing back to me fond memories of when I was in my 20s …. The 280sl and Alfa veloce were my roadsters and used daily…what a thrill.

This is one of the Best Documentaries I have ever seen. I love this Car so much that i am going to look to get a 1969 280 pagoda. A huge thanks to the German Mechanics to showcase this car and full Restoration. Awesome work😀😀👍👍

Love this. Had no idea there was a place that did restorations to this extent. Its beautiful. I used to own a 380 and a 240d in my younger years. Would love to know how much those would fetch for fully restored to these conditions.

i had a 67 280SL for 5 years but never took the hard top, the sun is so strong that it burns our heads and it´s still running today all original and restored some years ago(but always in good condition), a black one with dark brown leather seats
