You don't want to heat wrap it, mild steel will rot through under wrap, only wrap a stainless manifold. 👍🏻 Otherwise, I love the 106, I want one, but it's just a no go atm with this shit virus... 🙄

awesome vid mate.. My suggestion would be to get rid of that intake filter. Believe or not you are losing power with that thing. These engines perform at their best with a scoop type air intake system. They are pretty cheap to find. Check it out

As a gti owner currently I'm happy to see a fellow gti getting some love and attention to keep her alive 👍👍 I love my gti I've had it 5 years. It's my daily 🤣 mine been modded abit engine wise . The engine got rebuilt at 82,000 the shell now has 96 ish miles on it. Been polish and ported. New values, pistons and rings. My car is running 165bhp. Has Newman cams in and a remap plus some other bits I'm forgetting. I wish I could upload a picture as I'm a detailer so I've kept the car looking good. Mine called Mrs diablo after the colour of the car 🤣🤣 I had a colbolt blue gti before and I called her mrs powers 🤣🤣 she was running 155 bhp to flywheel and she would go off the clock there's 140 on the clocks btw 👍 I know she was fast because my mate had a Sundance yellow gti and his would top out at 140 and not move, I over took him on the motorway and went past him with ease. I honestly reckon I was doing about 150mph plus maybe 155mph. In one of them cars btw 155mph is scary fun 😎🤔👍

I had them in my colbolt blue 106 gti. I have newman cams in my diablo gti that I own atm. Il meet you for a b road trip after the uk come out of lockdown. I'm guessing your from uk too where abouts..? I'm from west Yorkshire near leeds 👍👍

I absolutely love the 106 Gti. Love the new manifold. If you planning on making it look cleaner and better. High heat paint will do the trick. Black or silver will contrast well.

Nice to see some videos made on a 106 rather than s3’s golfs gtrs etc Been in the 106 game 11 years now , good stuff mate.

You the outlet of the manifold looks like 60mm from the video. I would go with a group A rally stile custom exhaust so 60mm all the way with a small race muffler and a 100 cell race cat. That what we run on our group A 106, sounds wicked😉

Got a Kam racing 'grams' system on my sundance. Highly recommended.

4-1 will be louder and deeper of a tone (less raspy). 4-2-1 provide a more even, but lower powerband where 4-1 gives a higher peak power at top end range. in my opinion 4-1 makes a car feel more energetic at higher rpm. That's what I like about hot hatches!

Jamey you got good taste. This car is suuuuuper. A nice little genuine hot hatch. I'm missing my Citroën 1905 cc (big valves 8V) Gti already. AND HEATWRAP IT! MASSIVE POWER GAINS TO BE HAD!!!! 😂

step up the axle back size . so that means if from the header is 2" the pipe from the header will be 2" but the axle back will be 2.5 inches ....the sound will be glorious

They have practically vanished now, A long with the 306. I think these may have been the very last decent hot hatch peugeot every made, Not sure how good the 206 was to these.

your missing a part off that header the part that bolts do the cat back is miss or you just did not show it ... plus you so need some Mr style rear lights or I thing they called M3 style rear light housings would make the back end spot on and not full red with cheap red rear housings 😅👍

That looks like a vtr 8v manifold as 16v should be oval ports. Keep the progress going.

I always thought a 4-2-1 rather than a 4-1 is just better, basically because better flow means more power...But I do t know, it could just change the torque curve

You would need cams for that sort of power

Might want to replace your thermostat or at least check the gauge is working as everytime you film driving this car the engine temp is reading in the cold

You need a Peugeot sport exhaust sound sooo good, nice and raspy

Get it ceramic coated

Is your fuel gauge broken? Cause you went from having 3/4 of a tank when you arrived to get the manifold then when you pulled over to show us was on 1/4 of a tank?🤔😂

GTI's use alot of fuel when been driven hard lol. I've had two so far both tuned up, my blue one was running 160 bhp to the flywheel. My diablo red one is running 170 bhp to flywheel and when I used to fill the blue GTI's tank up i would get 55 miles sometimes 45 🤣🤣

@@JamieFYD Nah mate its not a shed, its far from it. Its in great nick for its age, 20 years plus now looking at the reg. Also these have practically vanished from the roads now, as daily motors. Just watch the gearbox. I own the 306 HDi and that rocking on hard, so its great to see the 306s little brother getting love again! They are just a mini 306. Also what was a favourite in the 306 world was swop the lights for later crystal units.
