Bargain Stop & Shop En Route to Rose City Vintage Market!
It's the home stretch of my drive to the amazing Portland summer vintage show, but I have one stop to make on the way! As I reflect on how cool Rose City Vintage Market was last year, I'm reminded of another cool picker's paradise that I found along the way...
Far off the beaten path, Moses Lake, Washington is home of one cute antique shop, and one crazy junk pavilion! It's called Bargain Town, and it's aptly named, with good prices on some cool pottery and vintage accessories that we pluck from the piles of everything from garden decor and architectural salvage to estate leftovers, appliances and antiques & vintage. A confusing combination of curated and staged vignettes amidst stacks of everything from farm junk to MCM chairs, this place is a wild pile of fun that turns up some neat stuff for us to take to this summer's Portland show!
We wind our way from there to the lakeside downtown, where a lone shop on 3rd Avenue beckons with a bright red ANTIQUES sign. This little storefront hides a deceivingly large and well displayed shop, where everything from costume jewelry and bedroom furniture to prints, toys, childrens books and Roseville Pottery vie for our attention. A local lawyer's collection populates the shop, so we enjoy true antiques and quality furniture, scarf up a handsome pair of bookends and pop for a fantastic MCM lamp that needs to go cross-state with us!
Moses Lake proves to us that you don't need giant antque mega-malls to find really cool things the collectors prize, and we'll be headed back there on our way to this weekend's summer Rose City Vintage Market to pluck a few more jewels to take to the Northwest's premiere antique show.

It's a good thing I don't live closer to that Rose City Vintage shop. I could spend days looking at everything in that store. Great video George. Take care.
There you go with those hats, you tickle me 😂😂😂. Nice video
Good evening, George. There looked like some really nice Nippon pieces on a shelf there. I could get into digging in a place like Bargain Town...in every area of it. I actually have that _Tarzan Mark of the Red Hyena_ Big-Little book. Had it since I was little. Wow! Your van looks loaded to the gills 😂👍 Those are the kinds of places I like to browse. Thanks for taking us along!

Oh it is down to the axles! I know I buzzed by the show footage, Jerry Cook is 70-ish, has been a dealer his whole life (his parents wrote the seminal book on Washington State artists), is super knowledgable and had a lot of great porcelain biscuit barrels I highlighted last year. My mom tried to get me to read the 1920s Tarzan hard covers, I liked the first but I missed out on the rest. I'm happy to hear you still have the book! It was sure a pile of stuff, thanks for indulging my visit and going with

@@TheAntiqueNomad You might have to get an old two-horse trailer, have solid doors made for it, and use it as extra hauling space 😂 I'd like to come across a lot of the Little Big books to rummage through. Some of the older ones really do interest me. Those kinds of places have always interested me. I used to enjoy rummaging through my grandparents old barn. There's no knowing what you might find that can be used in many different ways, in places like that. I'd have all sorts of ideas popping in my head.

Found your fabulous KZread channel, approx. a week ago, and subscribed, due to your extensive knowledge regarding vintage, and antiques pricing, and their history: ❤️ you even more now that you gave the adorable feline much-needed attention, via your gentle petting strokes, and talking to her/him. ❤️🩹 Thank you❣️⚘️🥰 🐾 at 5:43 ... “ What if it turns out the Hokey Pokey IS what it’s all about”? I laughed out loud at that line ❤

Wow, so much stuff! I am nearing the end of the living estate I've been working on(3 years!!), but it has led me to a new jewelry gig! A lot of fun, easy to ship and decent money!

Hi by George 😮
The best thing on the store had four feet and a tail. She'd have been riding my shoulder if I had my way. The Russo-Japanese war book would be a must for Teddy Roosevelt collectors; he earned a Nobel for brokering the peace in that one. 22:07 I'd be thinking Chinese on the horses, but George could see the siggies and the frame backs.
Bargain Town was amazingly . I love true thrift/junk stores. I could spend the day there. I kept wondering what do they do when it does rain? Where do they put everything? 🤔
Yahoo different
The WWI photo at 8.95 was interesting.
George, when are you going to make a calendar of you wearing hats! I am sure it would sell well.
At 20:41 they had some Australian Brownie Downing Aboriginal wall plaques!! I wonder how they got all the way over there?? 😮😮
