I love the bangs on yours better than mine. I think someday I might redo the bangs on my 75th Anniversary Barbie.

Yes, her bangs could have been styled better by Mattel. But overall a great doll! Her value has increased since the movie

Nice video ! My assumption as for why she had « mold issues » is that since she was the first ever Silkstone made with the « vintage Barbie body sculpt », some inconsistencies happened when de molding the dolls. And since Mattel is notorious for lacking quality inspections, these mold issues went unnoticed. I remember that I sanded mine lightly with a small file, so that the unsightly mold marks would not be that noticeable.

Yes i see the mold marks on her arma as well. The later repro silkstones dont have this issues thankfully! I’ll have to sand mine down too. Thanks for sharing!

I have the original repro Barbie from 1984 to celebrate Barbie's 25 anniversary Mine is a brunette( she was also available in blonde) Her bangs are also not as tightly curled and her hair is a chocolate brown The repro Gay Parisienne doll has the original black hair with Curly bangs and is made to resemble the #1ponytail She is stunning!

I just received my 75th anniversary Barbie today , no moulding issues and her fringe ( bangs ) are tightly curled , her hair is a little lighter than yours also . A lighter golden blonde . Got busy gal also . So happy with them . Have Evening Splendor on order 😊

Thanks to your video I was able to see the horrible molding issues on mine. I just unboxed mine and was able to use a sanding stick to -almost- completely remove the mold errors. At least I’ll probably forget they were there in several years. Totally agree about the silk stone material being great The eye shadow on mine is almost non existent, especially compared to the 2009 my favorite #1.

Great video!! I have two Silkstone Ken Dolls so far 😊 I Love how heavy and nice they are. I just started my collection and I’m up to 60 Kens so far 😝. I have some Barbies but no Silkstone so far, great review!!!!

i love vintage Barbie’s too!I have this one and her ankle is kinda like that. the #1 Barbie’s bangs are actually more straight like a #5, they are curlier on #2-4

Haha, I just pulled mine out of the draw to have a look at her feet. Mine has a very small imperfection on her right foot and slightly worse on her left. Very annoying for you though. I suppose there are doll restorers out there who could probably do a good job at repairing her if it concerns you.

I have one of the original barbies the one I have, eyebrows are arched but very shaped.

My dolls bangs are coiled tight, she's blonde, and I have a blk haired one also.

Thank you! For the bangs, I wet them with room temp water and gently combed them out. Dried them a bit with a towel and began pinching them between my fingers very firmly in order to get them to curl tighter. I also made sure to push them firmly against the hairline as I was scrunching. The heat from your fingers will eventually get them curly enough and flatter on the hairline.

I bought this doll from someone who owned it previously. The previous owner removed the earrings, because they were worried about green ear.

I'm obsessed, I'm about to buy her! Only 1 left at 80€... Should I? If I don't, I'll regret for sure. I could design so cool stuff for her... Don't know what to do! Ouch! This is all your fault, Manny: I love your channel so much!

Haha! yes I think this doll is a classic for a Barbie collection. Especially if you don’t collect the vintage dolls, this doll is a great tribute to vintage. Have you seen the Barbie movie teaser trailer? The look is so iconic!

@@somelikeitvntg I hope you like the 12 days doll, I loved it. I got her on eBay (for 200$, wish I had been able to get her on target.) and it’s such a beautiful doll! The accessories are great. I hope mattel does another one next year, so we can get a full 25 day advent calendar. I also wish the doll was silk stone.

Hi! I got most of my silkstone repros from ebay. Though keep an eye out on mattel creations since they are still releasing new ones every year. Midge was the last one released.

The imperfections and the bangs are unacceptable especially for an Anniversary doll and for the price that is charged

Just pulled mine out of the closet and looked at her feet a little more closely and she has the exact same issue lol Annoying, not sure how I missed that

Not crazy about the bangs and the material used on the body.

75th? Anniversary. Barbie isn't that old yet.
