Climb aboard the #760 Middleton Motorsports 2020 Shelby GT500 CFTP for a rip around the EPIC Barber Motorsports Park with other Mustangs in Birmingham Alabama! This was the Mustang Club of America MCA 60th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang event! I started out in the red (advanced) run group for the 1st couple sessions learning the track and then moved up to the orange (very advanced) group for session 3+. I was running a well worn set of Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires that have seen many sessions at COTA and G2 Motorsports Park... using them one last time before swapping them out! This was my 1st time at Barber. I hit my best lap time in the 3rd session of the 1st day... unable to replicate it due to poor corner grip of my well used tires!
This video starts with a little track orientation. Next up is my best lap. Then comes the highlight of my time at Barber. I coached my son in the novice run group for 2 sessions! Our intercom discussions are captured as I teach my son how to navigate successfully around Barber. The video finishes with a couple of bonus rounds... first up is my GoPro 360 Max highlights giving a unique perspective of the beautiful Mustangs on track. Lastly is a fun session with a fellow CFTP buddy as we exchange leads and tear up the track!
