    Final P.S.: Barbara, I didn't have at hand reference to an excellent little booklet which includes the history of the wedding ring when I posted my earlier comments. I've now found it again. This was written by the late Joe Crews, titled "Colourful Cosmetics & Jewellery" and is available through Amazing Facts website, and is also viewable online. I also feel I should assure you and viewers of this video that I'm not saying I've got everything right in my own life, nor am I trying to judge specific individuals for their own feelings or personal viewpoints on the subject, but I am trying to call attention to the fact that we all need to realise that true Christianity is indeed a 'narrow path', and even though it 'crucifies the flesh' we are only asked to sacrifice that which is offensive to Christ - and certain things are offensive to Him, as the Bible reveals. This doesn't change: Jesus Christ is the same 'yesterday, today and forever', and so any Christian really needs to be sure they fully understand what God requires of us. The path of self-sacrifice isn't easy - nevertheless, Jesus told us the path of the Christian definitely is a 'narrow' one, and we therefore only help ourselves and glorify Him if we find out what He would have us do. This of course will cross our natural inclination to put 'self' and what it wants, on the throne - but even though these facts may appear to our finite minds unimportant or, as I'm sure will be claimed by most in today's world, 'fanatical', nevertheless as they relate specifically to our eternal lives, they require full and thorough study.

    Happy Sabbath. This is my first video watching on your channel. I just subscribed to see what other types of videos you have. I definitely can relate to Sose in sometimes men will approach women purely because they want to. There are just some rude men out there. I have been modest for the majority of my life. When I look back though I cringe at some of my outfits my intention was not to be immodest had I known then what I know now of course I would have done differently. I am among those coming into SDA at the last hour. There is a lot of TRUTH to learn and lies previously believed to unlearn. Amazing topic I hope that there will be a part 2. Blessings

    Just a few reminders, for SDAs especially: • Jewelry- “Self-denial in dress is a part of our Christian duty. To dress plainly, abstaining from display of jewellery and ornaments of every kind, is in keeping with our faith.” Counsels for the Church pg. 181 par.7 • Cosmetics- “Many are ignorantly injuring their health and endangering their life by using cosmetics. They are robbing the cheeks of the glow of health, and then to supply the deficiency use cosmetics. When they become heated in the dance the poison is absorbed by the pores of the skin, and is thrown into the blood. Many lives have been sacrificed by this means alone.” {HR, October 1, 1871 par. 20} • Dress reform - "In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel." 1 Timothy 2:9. • "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God." Deuteronomy 22:5.

    Just a quick P.S. Of course people will probably doubt that lives can be lost by wearing cosmetics on our skin, and I'm not sure if this instruction applied only to the cosmetics available in Mrs White's day or not, but I do believe that many of the ingredients in today's cosmetics may well be dangerous to health and possibly life also. I think it best to trust Inspired counsel more than our cosmetic companies.

    Great conversation. Ultimately, let everything we do be to the glory of God. If how we are seen as well as how we treat our bodies. Grateful for the Bible being the guide. The only thing I would say differently, is that Ellen G White spoke specifically about not wearing trousers. I don't believe in our time and culture it is wise except, as discussed, for labour especially in private. But either way we are to be loving and respectful towards each other and be honest but not try to make our conviction let us feel above others. God bless you 😊❤️🙏

    I love this woman, she is love in action. Re modesty, God loves beauty, the rose is pruned. Take good care of yourself, scrub, and look after your hair. trim it, and wear it in a way that is beautiful and neat. Untidy hair is very distracting. A little make-up modestly applied an appropriate dress that is coordinated and suits your style goes a long way to increasing your confidence and dealing with the world. Modesty is not ugliness. God loves beauty. Nature is perfectly coordinated. This presentation is great for women who overdo it due to low self-esteem. I listen to Barbara because she is a God sent with her knowledge. A bit too much natural look does not work. I see her heart. She would reach millions if she was pruned like the beautiful rose that she is.

    Fallen angels taught humans to glamourize themselves with make up. Makeup mimics health- clear skin, rosy cheeks, bright eyes etc. If we are healthy we don't need makeup. Makeup is dishonest face paint.

    I wonder what you would suggest for me. I work laying tile with my son in law, so I do a lot of squatting, lifting, and cutting with a grinder. I have been wearing a long shirt/dress with jeans under it. The top is usually worn by most women as a dress but I am 5 ft 9 and so it comes down to a little above my knees. This has kind of been working but I'm just not so sure it's right and good. It may possibly be giving the wrong impression.

    I worked painting houses, I wore a t shirt and strap overalls at work, no problem to dress according to the type of work you are doing, and the climate in which you are working.

    Also, she stated to wash these fabrics first… before wearing any of these pure fabrics as they’ve chemical-pesticides on them from how they’re grown.     I know today many SDAs seem not to be concerned about things like dressing so as not to look like the world or wearing pants to church, but the fact is that the Lord is clear that man's attire (or clothes that copy what men wear) should not be worn by women, and vice-versa). With due respect, Barbara, I don't think we are free to twist this to suit our own changing ideas or personal preferences. Ellen White speaks on the importance of dress for Christians and those principles relate to any age, or time. I have also discovered on thorough study that our dress most definitely does relate to our salvation and it is a vital part of our witness to the 'unsaved'. At the most basic spiritual level, I believe that correct Christian dress is a statement that shows we trust and follow what the Lord says is approved of by Him, and not the changing and usually unrestrained ideas of human beings. I also know that a thorough study on the subject of the wearing of wedding rings (again, however unpopular this may be today) reveals it was a sign of those who worshipped the Sun god in past ages - no matter how superficially this is viewed today, that is its origin. The correct ideas and principles always should be studied in light of what the Bible reveals, and not what our 'personal' viewpoints may be. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned, and a correct perspective on all of this comes from being truly converted by Jesus and letting the Spirit lead and correct. I have seen and heard of absolutely appalling dress in churches over the last say decade and it makes me ashamed to be in the presence of it, and concerned that the Lord is so dishonoured. As I say, popular or not, I prefer to stay with what the Lord requires, no matter how weird it may seem to others - (and that doesn't mean I wear neck to knee dresses or drab clothing, and certainly don't dress in a way to draw attention to myself.) It's a matter of understanding how God wants His people to be seen in the world - when you get that into perspective everything else falls into place.

    This is about health as well as a moral issue, even organic or natural makeup can clog the pores and attract unnecessary attention. When we apply our makeup, just like with everything, we should ask ourselves what purpose do we want it to serve?

    And where in scripture are we commanded not to wear pants to church? And, okay to wear on other occasions? The question of how a Christian dresses AND behaves is a matter of conviction of the Holy Spirit in the searching heart… no conviction will ever happen as a result of anyone up on a soap box… we are instructed to not let the dress question fill the mind, as it appears some do which can have an opposite effect on those around them. Let everyone be converted in their OWN mind, not the mind of another

    @@missymitchel7763 That's fine about each obeying dictates of their own conscience, but a Christian's conscience has to be subjected to what GOD wants, not any other human being's views or opinions, and that is what is important. It also isn't a question of 'filling the mind on dress', but simply listening to and obeying what God says! And that is: (you requested a Bible text): The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God." Deuteronomy 22:5. Something that is an 'abomination' to God is very serious, as I feel certain you'd agree. I personally lean to therefore believe Christian women shouldn't wear pants or slacks at ALL, on any occasion, as what God thinks of this is clear; however, I understand that working in the garden can be very difficult in a skirt! Perhaps other Christian women do this and have little difficulty - whatever, the Bible position is clear. I consider presuming to disobey God on this specific instruction where women brazenly wear pants to attend HIS house of worship, a smack in the face and insult to Him - obviously God feels very strongly about it because 'abomination' is a very strong word indeed. Also, please realise, if you can't from what I've already said, that I'm not simply 'standing on my soapbox' giving a personal opinion here - I'm simply passing on what the Lord says on the issue. If you're an SDA you'll also find that Mrs White emphasises how important Christian standards of dress are. What you personally wish to do or not do about that is up to you.

    We are at 55:08, and after listening so far as to what's been said about the hair, I'm not hearing that colouring one's hair is up there with cosmetics. After all, when we are brutally honest with ourselves, and each other, is it not all for vanity? Even organic haircolours are not pure. Secondly, we live in a world today that is engrossed in "exercise". What actually is meant in the scriptures by "exercise", because all through biblical accounts the "true" women of YHWH never took on the practices of the pagan nations around them...i.e. sports, running, gyms, etc? The "obsession" with exercise is a 20th/21st Century demon. Once again, if we are brutally honest.... It's more for vanity for 80% of the population, rather than getting the weight down. Ancient biblical women got enough exercise doing daily chores, and obviously ate a right diet. They mostly walked everywhere instead of getting into a car. They lived in communities where they had access to most things by walking; and also it shows us that a cart and donkey could be used for many on the land. But most women today don't even know how to do their housework, they have become part of a 20th - 21st Century society that is more into themselves, their "right" to work, their pleasure. It simply isn't considered a credit to a woman anymore, if she has a home that is spic & span, it is rather frowned upon. I do believe the right diet is the key, along with living by the biblical principles guided by the Ru'ach of YHWH. Certainly, a healthy mind creates a healthy body. Yahuwshua showed us the way to right thinking... he came to do the will of his Father, for the kingdom of YHWH, and that is our purpose in life.

    Moderate exercise for health rather than for looks. Wear comfortable modest clothing. Exercise = exorcise. We expel toxins, stress and demonic attack when we exercise/exorcise.

    Oh, you know, even though we are discussing women here, I forgot to mention men. Let us not forget that biblical men didn't show their crutches... or their "butts", if I may be allowed to use the language of the 20th-21st Centuries. Let us not be like the faith of the muslim where the women are made to wear black blankets and head coverings in public, and their men wear the latest tight jeans, crispy-ironed shirts, and trendy sunglasses, going to the gym twice a day to pump those muscles to look good and beefy on the streets. Let us not be like those moderate muslim women who are told to cover their heads in public because it is for modesty... While wearing the latest sneakers, jeans showing their butts and crutches, and tops that reveal they actually do have breasts...now that's a little confusing... to be extremely modest concerning your head, but don't worry about your body?!?😵

    Christians should wear what they want to wear. No one person has the right to dictate what anyone wears. GOD does not care about what we wear; HE sees and judges what is in our hearts and how we treat others, not what is on our bodies.

    @@goldenautumn3073 I read the Bible, fast, meditate, and pray to HIM. HE reveals to me everything I need to know. Moreover, what I do not receive through Revelations, HE gives to me in my Dreams and/or in Visions. I most certainly do not need to rely on strangers.

For a Christian, God has to be put first above any personal viewpoint. ​ How will anyone notice any difference between Christians and wordly people unless Christians show them there IS a difference? That is what a 'witness' is - it involves the entire life.

    Once you start giving advice on what people should or should not wear you are starting down a slippery slope to judgement and separation. Surely it's more important whats in a persons heart than what they choose to wear, a backward and narrow minded step in my opinion.

    @VC The worldly women wear tops with their breasts half hanging out and shorts with their behind hanging out. I know what's in their mind, it's obvious. A Christian woman should not wear clothing that is immodest. I feel more respectful towards people and God when I wear modest clothing. It is not judgemental to give advice to those who want to know.

    I believe modesty is respect, but talking how to dress according to Barbara is not pleasant. She looks unkempt. The Lord looks to our hearts not how fancy or rugged we look.

    Not only our hearts as our hearts are filled with Deceit which is why she should always press on to perfection. Ask God for guidance and look to him. Our inward life behind close doors shows what we are like and the outside as well. Question is are we living for Christ or are we living for the world? Living for Christ = Him changing the way we act, think, carry ourselves, and etc.
