There are no exceptions to the rule, you may fight for your country, we appreciate it, but you're not above the law. We've heard too many stories with men and women who are serving and have gotten into trouble with the law when drinking. In NY we've had our issues with Navy personnel when they come to town. They feel they're above all since they serve. WRONGO!

Bottom line is the drinking age should be 18. At age 18 you're considered an adult, can join the military go to boot camp fight over seas, you're considered a league adult in the law, can unfortunately go away to prison jail. Pretty much do whatever you want like anyone else. Other countries the drinking age is 18 and surprisingly they have less problems related to alcohol.

Kids producing IDs that pass every legit test (even law enforcement) and you guys are complaining? You can’t get in trouble for serving them, you should be happy you have all these extra customers

Well until the kid gets in a fight or gets hurt/dies and the police actually look them up they won’t care what the ID said. If he’s 18 he’s 18 the bar will probably be sued or shut down

What’s the deal if a 19 or 20 year old drink underage? More business for you and the drinking age should be 18

Why does he care?

I just want to understand why bartenders care like that. Unless it’s obviously 100% fake, I wish that most of them could just look the other way and just act like they seriously didn’t know it was fake for worst case scenario.

I’m a bartender. To be clear: we are not refusing to serve 18-20 year olds because we want to. We are refusing to serve them because we HAVE to. As a bartender … if I got caught serving someone under the age of 21 I’m likely going to lose my job. Not only that, but I’d likely get the business in trouble as well. Whether their liquor license gets suspended, or they get a hefty fine, it’s a violation on the business that will likely take years to get wiped away. So when you see bartenders being stubborn about potentially fake ID’s, this is why. We are not choosing to act that way, we are being forced to.

It also depends what state you're in, some states are way more strict then others.

Every fake has its problems. A simple uv test will catch most. Alot will have simple errors in the design or the uv will be blurry. Or the uv will bleed through and be visible from the back of card.

Easy to spot a fake. Just look for the micro script and if you don't see it then its fake. None of the people who make fakes include the micro script print because the machine to make the ID would then cost then tens of thousands.
