I follow any Polynesian in the NFL, but Jordan in particular. He's a football version of Steven Adams, but with a great singing voice. I loved Kelce's comment in the doco about their Xmas record, that he suspects Jordan only plays NFL as a means of launching his singing career.

@@zestimpact no they didn’t mailata the only one I think played union but was trying for a contract in league, the rest of them have played rugby league in their younger days, not sure about hunt though.

Dude was steal in that draft, and I was so happy to see him develop so quickly into the player he is. I hope he's an Eagle for many, many years.

As a Samoan living in VA and a commanders fan, I have nothing but respect for this guy. Dude can play rugby, football, hell…he can even sing! 😅

@@yemaek Penei at the moment is more refined as a Football player, in terms of experience and overall technique. Yet, I am encouraged by Jordan's huge upside and impressed on how quickly he's picked up the game. I credit not only Jordan himself, but also the Eagles Offensive Line Coach for his rapid development. I believe they are both going to make All Pro and the Pro Bowl in the near future.

Bruh I’m a raider but this story has touched my heart and I wish nothing for the best for this man!

I married a girl from Bankstown 28 years ago and lived there for 7 years. It’s a rough place but the people are the salt of the earth. Rugby league is huge in NSW and kids play from 5yrs till they are too old to play anymore. Most Aussie kids play every sport and are tough. The US should set up an Academy in Australia they would see a lot of talented kids come through to college or the NFL.

Jordan is in all senses of the phrase an absolute CLASS ACT. Working in Center City Philly I’ve met Jordan personally several times and seen him pay bar tabs for people he didn’t even know. Very humble very down to earth. I can say for the whole city, Jordan we are glad you are here as a person and player. We hope to never see you leave!

I used to live a 10 minute drive from Bankstown. I’m so happy for him. Rugby League is a good game but because Australia has such a small population, the highest earning stars are only about 1 million a year. 4 years/64 mil is insane.

Just having Stoutland say: "Having a guy with no bad habits". Mailata, he must be opening doors for other International Players, humble, down to earth.

There are a lot of Pacific Islands people in our sports teams ,they are over represented in our Rugby League & Rugby Union teams .It’s a generalisation but many of the big guys have what we call “soft hands” . Clever ball movement in heavy traffic & ball security in addition to the big physical presence in offence & defence.Jordan has been a great story because he is a great human being. There are a few other young men here in Australia that are prospects but they will have to Jordan’s attitude to progress.

Go Jordan! Proud Aussie here, I go to Bankstown all the time to the airfield, tough and honest working class neighbourhood, just like Philly!

Just wanna clarify he played rugby league not rugby which is known as rugby union. And he didn't plow through anyone tbh, he was a big guy who wasn't able to get past the under 20s comp (kind of like minor league baseball). Good to see him killing it in the NFL though

@@cypr3ss mate I'm from Australia, watch a fair bit of NFL too but Alot more college football. he's more suited to NFL yeh but he was never in the NRL which is our main competition, he was in the Toyota/Holden cup which was a competition for kids 16-20 to play in. He was never signed to play NRL, he had size and that was about it. Watch highlights of Jason tuamalolo and Greg Inglis,David fafita, that's what's needed in NRL.

Having played football for the 1st half of my life and rugby for the 2nd I was excited to see what he could do. His feet n movement where unreal for someone his size. Wasn’t till last year vs Ravens that he came alive. Realized that he could flat out dominate. He’s Nvr looked back. Having competed with and against quite a few somoan/Polynesian I’m Nvr not been in awe of the humans their culture produces. Ferocious athleticism equaled only by their humbleness. Pray that the ausie lockdowns end so we Philadelphia fans can properly welcome the Mialata’s to OUR family!

My self and a lot of other people where under the impression that there was still a ban on travel regarding vaccination issues in Australia. If I was a college coach I would have recruiters living on the Samoan islands! I don't think I need to explain why but I will. #1, they have incredible genetics and it makes for incredibly strong, big, natural athletes! #2nd, they are unselfish, humble, respectful, intelligent and are full of heart and soul! They like playing Rugby Union and to a lesser extent Rugby League. American Football is not really on their agenda

@@robertryan7204 Actually it's any physical sport in those confines. Remember, American Samoa is the only connection to America in the South Pacific being that it's a US Territory. Naturally, Polynesians are and influenced by Australia and New Zealand.

There are also huge genetically gifted ppl from West Africa. But they don't have any rugby experience. I think the rugby experience helps the Samoan/Oceanic ppl alot.

Forgot to mention that he stunk at first, but he and Stoutland just kept working on his skills. So happy to have him on our team.

@@frecklefart909 bingo, which makes it a pretty darn cool accomplishment where he’s currently at with his skill-level. I don’t know if he’ll be a pro bowler, but he’s very good and takes up a lot of space. Has to continue working on those quick body shifts and planting.

I'm not a Eagles fan, but I'm a Jordan Mailata' fan, He's a beast. He can be on any team. You can't teach drive! He's got it.

Awesome piece. Some Eagles fans despise Rosie but there’s no denying that this is one of his best moves. Jordan couldn’t have landed in a better place. Put him in a room with great mentors like Stoutman, JP, Kelce, Lane and Brooks. Have the comfort and familiarness with Vaitai and Seumalo. Have veteran D-linemen like BG, Long and Cox willing to help and share their insights to improve Jordan’s craft. Jordan did the hardest part by not giving up. Good for him! 🤙🏽

This makes me wanna watch nfl now and maybe become a eagles fan who knows but much love to the bro and hope he gets even better (from Australia btw) 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇦🇺

@@austinrobertson7067 He is that good, but that isn't what makes an offensive lineman well known and respected. It's all about consistency. If he plays next year like he did this year, then he's going to be in the pro bowl and will more than likely get an all pro nod.

I’m a WFT fan, I have been since birth. I also married into an Eagle family and have played rugby for 20+ years. When I heard about the Eagles drafting Mr. Mailata I told my Father-in-Law that they just got the steal of the century. I knew what this guy could bring to the table and I’m pissed (but not surprised) the WFT missed out on him!

NFL scouts really miss so much opportunity by not seeing these AFL or NRL players in Aus / NZ. Monsters, and built tough here.
