Banks Are SELLING Your Financial Data!

Ғылым және технология

Financial privacy is essential for a free society, because it allows us to support causes we believe in without fear of retribution, to flee dangerous situations without being tracked, to live our daily lives without feeling like every choice we make is on display and needs to be self-censored.
How can we have a truly free society if the way we interact with the world around us is constantly monitored and controlled? But that's exactly what's going on right now. In this presentation I explain how surveillance of the traditional financial system works, and what solutions there are for reclaiming your right to financial privacy.
00:00 Financial Privacy Is Crucial for a Free Society
2:22 Traditional Financial System is Controlled, Censored, and Monitored

44:55 Alternative Financial Systems ARE The Answer
47:03 Audience Q&A
Traditional privacy tools like cash continue to dwindle in relevance, but cryptocurrencies like privacy coins present themselves as torchbearers of financial privacy in this new digital era.
But the level of privacy you get is contingent upon the choices you make -- it's not enough to use things like privacy coins, you have to know how to use them properly.

@@NaomiBrockwellTV , it's your liberty. Galileo, Hypatia, "witches", Inquisition, Pampas Indians, American Indians, Aztecs, Holocaust, etc., while Marxists infiltrated the theological schools decades ago. It matters to me and the defense of my liberty. You'll find in the end that her words are not "kind", although she may be naive, too. It's an attempt by cult promoters to presume credit for the intellectual initiative of those standing up for individual rights. Ask yourself: who is attempting to violate financial privacy? Are they cult members? Why are they doing it? Bush, for example, established the Patriot Act.

This reminds me of “The Emperor’s last soldiers” 2 Japanese soldiers who stuck it out in the jungles of Guam for 16 years after WW2 ended essentially loyally fighting for their “Emperor”. There always is a balance between a need & the cost associated with fulfilling the need. If the latter becomes too high then the only prudent thing to do is to one begin rethinking the need. How many people are using basic things like 2FA? Why have banks not yet implemented Webauthn to enable security keys yet. It all boils down to cost/benefit analysis.

Good information. BUT, it doesn't help. If I want to keep my Joe-bag-o-donuts, everyday transactions private, how do I do it? All the stuff you talked about are fine for large organizations capable of handling the technological overhead of figuring this out. But, what about normal people? Everything you mentioned is unusable for us at the day-to-day level. Plus, along with giving us possible private methods, you helpfully told us why those methods don't work. We need a properly working solution that my grandma can use. Not a work in progress tool that only large scale technocrats can use in certain cases.

Bitcoin's current level of transparency is necessary so that institutions (especially financial ones) and governments cannot hide transactions or misrepresent quantities of Bitcoin assets. The prominent example is gold. If you buy a piece of paper which represents 100 oz. of gold stored in a secure facility. How can you know if the physical gold is actually there? Where is the immutable ledger that guarantees that your gold is there? Bitcoin solves that issue

No where on my life is anything that I could pay with crypto currency beside I don't have any and don't understand much about it, beside that ther are a public key and a private that I think is not even privat, becourse if it one time on the PC and you print it on a paper the code is stored inside the printer anyway and any professional could get the data from the printer. 🤔

An easy thing we can do now. Use cash, my local supermarket had 4 cash machines and have now dropped to 1. I take cash out weekly and go into the supermarket and pay for my weekly shop with cash and use it wherever else I can. If stores see a lot of customers still use cash they will be reluctant to stop using it. The longer we have cash the longer we have a privacy choice.

I understand that activists, dissidents and journalists need privacy in financial transactions due to the sensitive nature of their work. But what I don’t understand is, why should regular everyday people care so much about privacy in financial transactions? So what if someone finds out I bought a wedding dress or I went to addiction therapy or I went to hire a divorce lawyer? These things can only be used to attack me if I’m insecure about the world finding out about it. The real problem is that I’m insecure and trying to hide my activities, financial privacy does not solve the root cause which is being insecure. It’s better to teach people to be who they are and be unafraid for trivial things than to dig deeper and try to hide their tracks even more. All of this does not apply to serious and legitimate scenarios of course, like I said about activists and journalists. But for regular people I really don’t think a lack of financial privacy is a serious threat.

Privacy is important because it then means that..those info can allow companies to filter you from accessing their products or them as well. Or even for companies to use money to indirectly filter you out as well from making money or from access too. Marketing. I.e. So say... People knew you were single and then targets you with dating apps or services. Cos in a way, the banks want to actually increase their actual economic figures for example. Cos they have built a lot of properties and want families to move into those. But what if you are not ready or is in a relationship with somebody but you have not updated that data ?... And then your partner assumes that you're cheating. There was a famous case of the girl who didn't know was pregnant in the USA... And yet she kept receiving vouchers for baby kits. Her dad saw the tokens and said to the supermarket that this is wrong. His child is not pregnant. Then he went home and asked her and they went for a test and found out that she is ? I don't see the rape adverts any more. In my situation... I kept seeing the pcos thing and I opted for a immortality.... Operation and then suddenly the entire pool of women who had been euthanised are now grouped. When even though it is not necessary... Is this fate or manipulated date by data marketeers to make you go and opt for those options ?... Some would and can your location.. and then try to buy wholesale the energy. So then you may pay a higher price for your energy against your next door neighbour, say. Marketing data for financial ones in the UK used to be.. classified by a kind of class system. How much your house costs then puts you into middle or low income class. It is fine but then the upper class group tends to enter the financial sectors and the lower class doesn't ?... Some people say in the UK life is not bad. However you guys in the USA is harder... Because... your chance of earning a higher salary or wage is going to be minimal as well. It means end of life....

Marketeers have also become social engineers and manipulator as well now too.. cos they force your demise to make themselves survive only. Because they turn a situation to their advantages as well. Do you see ? I win. You lose. There is also no golden rule etc... And make you see a situation from an opposing angle too. I.e. you take the side of the criminal and not from the vulnerable... the internet can turn you into a black and white person too. And make you react badly.... The whole book of 1984 is true. With money some people would always be above you than them etc.

It's useful at minimum to understand just how tracked you are even if you're personally to lazy to do anything about it, you can atleast understand why someone else might and why it's not insane. Edit: also at the moment it's pretty easy to just implement using cash more when and where possible. Anyone can do that.

@@NaomiBrockwellTV Unless they did what Australia just did and banned all on and off ramping. Its all the main banks behind this with the full backing of the law (as Australian law requires banks to comply with FATF and BIS) as its the banks complying the the FATF and BIS AML/KYC regulations. If you can't on or off ramp, its a successful ban. Also because without on and off ramps, you can't trade and thus crypto serves zero use in Australia.

Having or not having the facility to use or spend crypto isn’t the bigger issue. The bigger issue is the governments actually releasing their own style of crypto where we don’t have any choice in using cash or card. It will be a government mandate that you must use digital money and it is possible they can track what you buy, where you buy it and how much you spent.

  • @vanntile

    @vanntile

@@StephenLinsley I agree that is the major future problem, however, I don't agree with you saying that not being able to spend crypto is not a (big) issue. Money is only valuable if you can use it, and this whole video's take is to bring back privacy to your purchasing, which currently you can't do almost at all.

Crypto is a part of the elites system. It was never meant for people. No sane man believes a Japanese grandpa in his basement did it. It's obvious fed psyop to move people's cash resources, make them used to digital money, and monitor them.
