Every time, I was about to leave Thailand, I would have an early night in, go through my bags and not leave the hotel that night, then lock the bags and also use a paper taper around the locks and initial them. In the 80s there was a big problem with Heroine from Bangkok airport. The bullet thing is new but heard of it a few times before, My guess is they access the bags in the hotel room.

That temple looks like a really nice place. It seemed very peaceful there, a cool place to visit and hang out. The food places you passed by reminded me of the food places I used to go to in the other Asian country where I used to live. Good food for a cheap price. Watching your videos fill me with nostalgia. As for the story about the bullets, it's strange. The first thing that came to my mind was that somebody slipped them in for some reason. I agree with you, you can't be too careful when it comes to your baggage.

They were doing that for several years at the Manila airport, looking for a bribe to let you off. I think it has been cleaned up. Not sure why this happened in Thailand but it is scary. Always watch your luggage when you travel and be very careful if you hunt or target shoot as it is easy for one small bullet to wind up in a suitcase or duffle bag.

I will tell you what happened to these Mikes' incidents. Those bullets are planted to make money from these tourists. That was happening in the Philippines too. Tourists was freaking out wondering about those bullets ending up inside those luggages or carry on bags. An investigations from the embassy from those countries got involved and finally resolved. Custom employees planted those to make money. How sickening!! As a Filipino raised in the United States for 53 years learning these crimes happened to the tourists exiting my country made me ill. I am very happy that those incidents was not just happening in the Philippines but Thailand too. I love living in Bangkok, Thailand (Oakwood Service Appt) for 3 years. The only negative side of Thailand I did not like was the excessive site of prostitution. I am glad that the government of Thailand plan to clean up the red light district in Bangkok. Overall, I find Thai people very nice and I really miss living in Thailand. When my husband and I visited the Philippines in 2016, I was very cautious about these "bullets" surprises. I informed the baggage handler that I was keeping my eyes on her. In other words, I told her don't FUCK with me. Since I can speak 4 languages, I warned them and video tape the moments. My husband and I always travel now with hard case luggages with locks on them.

I usually fly into Bangkok, then either take the train or fly and ship bags by train, in both directions. I guess that I haven’t pissed off anyone enough to stick a bullet in one of my suitcases. But, I’ll be more vigilant now. I know first hand the U.S. Custom agents don’t like you to open up any suitcases between getting them at baggage claim and going through customs. I usually bring clothes with me to leave at my house in Chiangmai, along with tools. In my upcoming trip, I’ll bring a 50 piece craftsman metric socket set and 12 Hunter pop up spray sprinklers. I usually don’t declare anything but May this time. On the way home the last 2 times, my wife has her mother package Thai spices to fill 2 suitcases and a carryon. I’ve never had any problems with Thai TSA agents removing the spices. But, the last time I got back to the U.S., I was carrying Thai spices that were somewhat paste like in carryon. TSA on the first go wouldn’t let me take it but would let me go back to put in the checked bags. I went back but the airline wouldn’t retrieve the bag. So, I tried one more time with a different TSA agent. If he said the same thing, I would have let him toss those spices. He never said anything. This time, I’ll make sure that those pasty type spices are in the checked bags. I do declare the spices when going through. It’s a good thing that I trust my mother in law. However, I’ll remember not to do anything to piss her off.

My aunt sent me some special dried fish from the Philippines and scared shit of getting in trouble especially my husband. I hated those dogs and tried to shooo them away from me. When I live in Bangkok, I will always bring some of dried, crispy and spicy anchovies but so far all was fine. I will travel 3 times a year to check on my house in Arizona and my 3 kids living each in different states because of school. One lived in Boulder, Colorado and one in San Francisco, Ca. and one lived in Arizona. Coming back to Bangkok every time, I will always bring a case of wine from Napa Valley, California. When my kids came to visit us, I asked my son to bring me a case of wine too. Well, they were detained at the airport because I found out, 2 bottles of wine ONLY allowed. I have been going back and forth for almost 2 years, 3 travels a year and NEVER got cited for it. Finally, they did allowed that case of wine. LOL!!!

Jesus Cripes ! This kind of s#$t scares the crap out of me ! First question I have.... Did those guys know each other or spend any time together ? If they did it very well could have been planted in both of their suitcases where it might be difficult to notice when packing (but easy for the x-ray machine to pick up). Either there was a connection, or it was just a strange coincidence that someone (most likely the same person) happened to meet both of them separately. The motive could be that the person who did this does not like Americans. I always check every inch of my bags when travelling. This kind of set-up would be easy to do if you ever left your bags out of your view. A bullet would be easy to conceal and slipped into a slot or crevice in a bag (without you seeing it or feeling it). One more example on how people need to be extra precautious when travelling into or out of any country. "Banged up in Thailand" - Another horror story that should have never happened......

As best I can tell they did not know each other and it happened about a month apart . My question is did they stay at the same hotel , ride in the same taxi ext. There has to be some common issue here . I ve reached out to a family member of one of them and asked those questions .....

@@UTCM Good that you are looking into that. There could be a connection for sure. This case could actually be solved if so. And the publicity from somebody getting arrested for this shit could send shockwaves out that could possible deter this type of thing from happening to other innocent people. Something you and I can talk more about when I get over there.... This type of shit is outrageaous !!!

Correct bro, someone planted d bullet in their suitcases but what r d reasons if not for monetary interest ? D airport security guys will b d last one to check their luggages . Could it just for fun someone planted d bullets der to test d security airport or was it planted by some subversive elements to test d airport security too? Or planted by someone as a revenge ...

I think personally . Somewhere they crossed with the wrong person . But most likley the same person . And I doubt it had a thing to do with security at the airport . Everything there is covered by CCTV . And no where does it say they were asked for money . You could be correct someone testing the system or just some maybe they both rubbed the wrong way.

Okay then bullet was planted for sure they have a history of having a fascination with bullets by saying like around 22 years ago to westerners it only takes one bullet to take you out I also want to point out that there is a number of Thai citizens who really hate foreigners but I live in the south and I don't have any of those kinds of problems at all but the North it's a strong possibility of running into these people I don't know if the pandemic changed them and made them more humble but keep your behavior at Bay they're also known to attack people from behind when you have no idea and really hurt you

A zip tie can be unzipped and reused in a couple of seconds without cutting it by using a small flat bladed screw driver or the tip of a small knife blade like a pocket knife.
