Now you know why Lovebites grabbed Fami. She has the technical abilities and the speed needed to keep up with M & M. And to think she nearly quit playing music! The audition for Lovebites re-ignited her interest. Great reaction as always Bob.

Yes, Miyako plays drums decently, played brass and wind instruments as a kid, and laid down the bass tracks on the demos for the new album (before Fami formally joined). On "Phoenix", as part of her short-lived stint as one half of Sonic Lover Reckless", she recorded all three guitar lines as well as the bass line.

Lovebites is my favorite band (ever) for a multitude of reasons. Bottom line is there are 5 members who are elite level at what they do, and like you questioned, as far as I'm concerned I have NEVER witnessed a band in over 50 years of listening to metal that is chock full of such talent. And not even a Super Group can measure up to them. Their compositions are complex and layered.

My all-time dream gig (Rammstein and Nightwish!) would now include Lovebites - like those other legends, this band is absolutely tight and together, in tune with each other in every sense, full of talent and low on pomposity, obviously loving what they're doing and therefore doing it absolutely right. But the shenanigans are the best! This is a great thug life song full of attitude. 😎 Stand and Deliver [Shoot 'em Down] will be a live favorite forever. A great sing-a-long song. Another great reaction Bob. I appreciate how you pick up on the nuances and technical aspects of the music. Haruna does so many “little” things and you mentioned only a couple. I put “little” because they aren’t lol! Also, this is the first time Haruna has had a mic and joins in the shout parts. You can often see her mouthing the song but not with her own dedicated mic, at least I’ve never seen one in any of the live performances. I also really like the harmonies in the chorus from Midori, Fami and Miyako. Asami has put a bit more edge and grit in her vocals for this song. I can see in your background that you are a multi-instrumentalist like I am and can really appreciate what all the ladies are doing.

I have been saying this since 2017 when I first found Lovebites with their debut song Don't bite the Dust, that the complexity and prolific compositions are incomparable to many bands of today as well as many bands of the past. The engineering and technical abilities that they have created from incorporating and infusing so many styles and genres in the variations of songs as well as in one song. Me and a friend began to call this "The Queens of Resurrection metal" Lovebites has literally resurrected the driving force of rock/metal from the mid-70s to the 80s

Hi from the UK Bob. Have watched three of your reactions and analysis to the awesome Lovebites. This group of ladies are masters of their craft. They are described as one of the best female rock groups. I would say they are one of the best rock groups, male or female! You pick out some intricate elements of their playing, which I love. They deserve a bigger following. Trouble is, traditionally, air play normally has a time range of between two and a half to three minutes so folks don't get to appreciate longer songs. They are all beasts. Haruna, well, she is my "pocket rocket" and you are correct in saying they are all virtuoso's. I'm in! Best wishes.

It consists of six metal covers on piano but those are more than cover. You know how Miyako plays piano damn well. Try an album Miyako, Etude Opus 23. This is one of those covers Eagle Fly Free kzread.info/dash/bejne/X5xnpK6Lo5O-opc.html. She also covers Far Beyond the Sun by Yngwie Malmsteen and it sounds as if it was composed as a classic piece and Malmsteen covered with guitar. It’s interesting that you think Miyako is the more technical guitarist. There’s an older interview with the ladies where Midori says she’s the more technical of the two. Of course, that was then, and they’ve both said that after the first album, they try to just play whatever rather than one being the technical guitarist and the other being the “feel” guitarist. And yes, Miyako can play drums. Fami can play guitar as well (check out her cover of “Don’t Say Lazy” on her channel), but I don’t think Haruna plays bass nor does Asami play guitar. I have no clue if Midori can sing, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
