Thanks for the reaction and comments. The sound is uniquely Band-Maid and incubus. Love the song. Cheers!

I really like this. Saiki's english is really nice. Great harmonies with Miku (what would we expect). Very Kanami guitar solo. Misa smoothly grooving all the way through.

Everybody has wanted an English-language song from them that wasn't "Don't Let Me Down" or "The Dragon Cries" (and Kobato-written). Here it is! The lyrics _could_ be about you and your best friend, or between the band members, or it _could_ be about them and Mike, or it _could_ be another one about them and their fans. Or all of those. This _could_ be their concert closer in 2024/2025. It isn't showy and face-melting like some Band-Maid songs but it seems genuine and it's guaranteed to grow on you.

This is 90% Incubus, 10% Band-Maid, as far as the sound is concerned. The middle part of the song, the solo section, is all Kanami, but the majority has Mike's signature all over it. It's a "safe" song in my opinion as I know very well that Incubus AND Band-Maid can both get technical and melt faces. This is more of a casual collaboration, than an in depth technical master class of song writing. It's a friendly collab about being friends.

I think Mike is trying to get them noticed with this song. It's more radio friendly and if this is the case, I hope it works. I think it is a good song, but will be much better live, of course.

I wonder how much of a language barrier hurts song writing

Lyrics are beautiful and all in English. It took me a few listens, but this is a perfect new closer for future okyu-jis (concerts). Thumbs up from me!

I'm totally with you on the end 90s/early 2000s feel. It would fit a soundtrack to the high school movies of that time a la American Pie, except that the song here is written 10x better and more interesting. 🤭🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Second listen, and I like it much more than the first listen. More palatable for current American taste?

Bass heavy, Saiki/Miku singing easy to hear, Little different but they are the best at it. Very good song and production.

I love MISA's playing... and Akane's... and Kanami's... and the recording is good, too! Miku's lyrics are heartfelt. "I can't look into your eyes." Is Saiki her bestie? But Saiki masterfully delivers her lyrics, as always. BTW - The volume of lyrics and nuanced melodies she's committed to memory over the years is simply mind-blowing! Mikey did good at giving them his direction for the song, and probably helped with the English lyrics -- a good growth for Miku's craft. I don't understand why Kanami said she couldn't have come up with the main riff. Probably just her being super polite, as usual. I like the groove and feel of the song. I was waiting for, "I don't give a f**k" at the end. But maybe with these particular "Bestie" lyrics, that wouldn't be such a good idea. Even though at first listen it felt on par with Start Over It will undoubtedly do what every Band-Maid song does -- grow on you. Got to break through to the mainstream market with a few cuts, right? Hopefully Bestie helps with that! Thx, Band-Maid! And thanks, Reap!

For me Band Maid can do no wrong . The drums make this song for me as if it driving the song along literally. Love the lyrics. It is however a nice song and a grower. Not a stand out, not a concert favourite or one that will be in many top Band Maid songs. Nor is it an emotional tear jerker. It is nice and fun and Akane and Saiki make this have the Band Maid feel. Not sure about what was put on the table from outside the band. An album track given that Band Maid feel.

It's a "safe" song. It's a friendly collab. Not something technical. I don't think they went into this thinking they were going to melt our faces off. I think it was more like Mike had this song sitting in his collection and suddenly got this💡 when he saw and heard Band-Maid at Point Fest.

I have to admit, and I will say it. I was underwhelmed. I didn't dislike it, but if I compare it to other Band-Maid ballads, be it Start Over, About Us, Daydreaming, Endless Story, or Memorable? I did feel like it was too restrained, lacking in the flourishes Micho usually adds even in the background, and Akane's fill felt like it was more on autopilot. This.. was a bit too western in structure for me to think "Band-Maid". Misa was about the only one feeling "unleashed", IMO, with Siaki doing journeyman work, but also not really as embellished as I would prefer. Honestly I felt the Dragon Cries even had more Band-Maid DNA in it that this. For me it's a 6.5/10. I had actually hoped if there was going to me so much Incubus DNA it would be more the "Make Your Move" kind of vibe. Ah well. On to the next song.

This reminded me of a standard slower Band-Maid, kind of like Endless Story. I don't know Incubus at all, but there was nothing that stood out as 'not Band-Maid'. It sort of felt like he wrote a song for Band-Maid, rather than he wrote a song, and Band-Maid played it.

It's straight up alternative rock, the type that's played in the mainstream. Not my jam but I still dig Band-Maid.
