Ballistic rated glasses are more for bullets that are fragmenting next to you going into ur eye balls. Or explosives explosions doing the same thing. Frag goes everywhere.

So is there any ANSI rating or similar testing standards designation for "ballistic" ? So just because any a brand/manufacturer/sales listing says it's "ballistic", then we are supposed to have full confidence that it is "4x" stronger than "ANSI"?

There's MIL rating. Such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-PRF 31013 or MIL-DTL 43511D. Those account for heavier particles going at higher speeds.

Rob my kore sunglasses are ballistic and ansi rated and stronger than my old oakley and wileys so I am covered.

How important are your eyes? Doesn't really matter what other people think. Accidents can happen and better safe than sorry when it comes to my vision.

always wear them. had my suppressor blow off my gun because i forgot to lock it(dont really ever recall not locking it). Everything was fine but it blew so much gas into my face i got covered with black carbon.

For airsoft/paintball is ansi enough or should i go for the ballistic rating?

I've used regular old ansi safety glasses for airsoft and been fine

So my Prescription det cords are only ANSI :(
